My bff - vibrator by Doc Johnson - review by Alan & Michele

Doc Johnson's MY BFF vibrator has an angled head designed to hit the G-spot and a thick contoured shape to please girls who like a little more girth to their toys. It's also great for clitoral stimulation, and has a waterproof seal so you can enjoy it in the bath or shower.

This vibrator is made of hard ABS plastic with a polyurethane coating that gives it a very nice velvety soft surface. It's considered hypo-allergenic, and does not contain any latex or phthalates. It has a faint powdery scent that's actually pleasant, but you can only smell if it's directly under your nose.

Along both sides of the My BFF there are three raised areas that are about the size of a pinky finger pad, meant to give a little extra sensation when the toy is inserted.

My BFF is a big toy. Not in length (which is only 6" overall) but in girth. The center bulge is 1-3/4" wide, and from the side the angled head is a little over 2" wide. This means that if you cannot comfortably insert at least three fingers in your vagina, the BFF could be a real challenge for you. Once inserted, this vibrator will undoubtedly provide a real sense of fullness while the tip presses against the G-spot.


Only 4" or so of this toy is insertable, because the darker colored base is what you unscrew to insert the batteries, and the bottom half of that is a twist-dial controller.

Even though it's not a "pocket toy", you could easily slip this in your travel bag or suitcase and not have it take up too much room.

The My Bff needs 2 AA batteries to run and, as mentioned before, you twist the dial base to turn the toy on and gradually increase the level of vibrations. The dial is firm so it's not real easy to accidentally turn it when you're using the toy, and there are indentions to help you grip it better.

If you like deeper vibrations that rumble more than buzz, then you'll be impressed with this toy. My BFF rumbles in a very satisfying way, and never makes more than a low-pitched hum when doing so. The lowest level of vibrations is very gentle and feels like a tapping massage. The highest level is powerful enough to be felt easily through denim jeans, and would be strong enough to please most users.

The vibrations seem a little stronger in the head of the toy, but can be felt pretty strongly in the middle bulge and the base as well.

Since this toy is waterproof, it's simple to take care of; just wash it with anti-bacterial soap and water before and after each use, or use your favorite toy cleaner. You can also wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol if you feel the need, but avoid bleach and other harsh cleansers.

The My BFF is also compatible with both water-based and silicone-based lubricants.

The packaging consists of a thin clear plastic box with pink accents and some product info on it. The vibrator rests in a contoured plastic tray inside, and is visible through the front of the box. It's sturdy enough for gift-giving and even temporary storage, but in time you may want to get something more durable.

There's a paper folded inside which shows how to insert the batteries for several Doc Johnson toys and has some basic usage information too.

Ok, now I'm embarrassed; I absolutely could NOT get this vibrator inserted comfortably no matter how much lube or angle changing we did. I have silicone toys of similar size that we've been able to use, but the rigid plastic and over-sized head makes all the difference in the world. It just didn't work with my body shape.

On the other hand, this turned out to be a *very* nice clitoral toy for me. The head rests right over my pelvic bone to nestle down just between my labia, and those deep rumbly vibrations are just the way I like them. I wouldn't mind having just a little more power right at the end, but My BFF gets me off anyway. Considering the fact that it's waterproof, this has become my second "go to" clit vibe (the Lelo Siri is my first, but I can't take him in the bath!)

This toy surprised me when we first turned it on, because I was expecting it to be "buzzy," as my wife says. I don't think we've ever had a plastic toy with vibrations quite like this one.
My ass breathed a sigh of relief when I realized this wasn't a toy that was safe for anal though. No way my orifice could handle it. But I'm glad we got it, because it's great for Michele. Oh yeah, and for my back too. Like she said, the low setting is like a tapping massage, so the width of the toy is a real plus for sciatica sufferers!
