Partly pleasing.

This toy was not as exciting as we thought it would be, based on the photo's on the site, and was quite disappointing overall. The 'novel' or 'unique' design and lack of power were the two biggest drawbacks to this toy.

useful review
When this little toy arrived, we unwrapped the package with glee, expecting it to be yet another great addition to our growing toy collection, much like the Magic Slim Intimate Glider we previously reviewed.

Sadly, in this case, we were to be a little disappointed.

The passion flower came in a small box, attractively designed and visually appealing. On opening it and taking the toy out, we found there weren't any instructions. Now, normally, this wouldn't present any problems, because, you know, it's usually a matter of either poking it into the nearest orifice or rubbing it over your partner's clit as appropriate. Not exactly rocket science.

In this case, the rather unique design made it a little less intuitive to use.

Essentially, this is a bullet style vibe with a TPE shaped cover, styled to look like some sort of flower. It's waterproof (tested in our shower) and only has a single on/off touch button on it.

The first surprise for us was that it's a lot bigger than we were expecting. For some reason we thought that this would be fairly small, but as it turns out, the 'leaves/petals' of the vibe make it fairly large and cumbersome. It's difficult to insert and just leave, and you really need two hands to be able to properly position it.

Aside from the centrally placed business end that gets inserted in your partner's (or your) pussy, there are two little nubs, supposedly placed strategically to stimulate clit and anus when the vibe is fully inserted and stimulating the G-spot. That's the theory, anyway.

We tried this a couple of times and it was quite evident that you could have one or the other, but not both. If the G-spot was being tended to, both little nubs missed their mark by a wide margin! If we got the nubs positioned over my wife's clit, the center vibe was nowhere near the G-spot.

The strange design does not work. This may be good for novelty value, but as a serious (I hate to use that term) sex toy, it's quite disappointing.

The final area this falls short in is 'buzz'. Compared to the other toy mentioned above, this hardly registers on the buzz scale.

All in all, not what we expected, and just a little disappointing given the sterling quality of the previous toy we reviewed, also by CAL Exotics.

Incidentally, if anyone else has used this, please let us know what the four small holes placed around the edge of the 'petals' are used for. We have no idea why they're there!
Experience
We tested this a couple of times to see if it worked better in certain situations than others, and found that this is not a toy that you can use on its own. You really have to use it with another toy for it to give the sort of experience you want to experience repeatedly...

Our first test was in the shower. It's confirmed to be waterproof! My wife stood in the shower and tried to insert it standing up, keeping the two nubs against anus and clit respectively, while stimulating her G-spot. This didn't work as well as we'd hoped, because of the positioning of the nubs relative to the business end of the toy. We assumed that the position was the cause of the problem, so we adjourned to the bed to continue testing.

With my wife on her back and open legged, we tried inserting it again to stimulate clit, anus and G-spot simultaneously but again failed. At this point, she tried using it to concentrate on the G-spot, but it wasn't powerful enough to really give her the orgasm she's been able to achieve with another toy we use frequently.

Unwilling to just give up, and being quite horny at this stage, we brought out another toy and while she used that on her clit, I used this one to explore a bit to see if I could reliably find the g-spot with it. It was only with the combination of the magic vibe *and* this, along with one or two strategically inserted fingers that she really came hard.

We tried one final time last night using the same technique, and once again, there was quite a big orgasm for the wife. This has reinforced our view that this is a toy best used in conjunction with something else, because on its own, it just doesn't get the job done.

On the plus side, all the experimentation is a hell of a lot of fun!!! ;-)
Follow-up commentary
Since the original review, we've tried to use this toy again, and have to say that our experience with it's still not been great. It's not well designed at all, compared to the other toys we've used, and if anything, using it's more of a distraction than anything else.
