The Venus Penis "G" is a fully wireless vibrator, designed to be strapped to the user's thighs and nestled against her g-spot and clitoris. The thin, short probe is curved and encompasses the motor, making it ideal for g-spot stimulation while the user or her partner control the vibrating function with the wireless remote. The butterfly also has a little "stinger" for perineal or anal stimulation.

The Venus Penis "G" is a nice choice for partnered play since it has a wireless remote, which your friend across the room can use to cycle the Venus through varying patterns of butterfly kisses under your skirt. It is also great for a lady who is solo though, since the remote affords much greater movement during use because there are no wires to get tangled in or accidentally pull on. Whether being used with a friend or on your own, this is a toy that would be better used in say, a noisy restaurant or night club than in meeting room or Sunday service since whoever is within about 10 feet of you will surely hear the quiet buzz of your pleasure.

The adjustable thigh straps extend to about 25 inches around, so this may not be a great toy for women of size. The thigh straps are not also not very stretchy, so this is not the most spontaneous toy to pop on when the mood strikes.

The soft TPR material The Venus Penis "G" is composed of is flexible enough to allow for more comfortable insertion than rigid toys. Right out of the box, the material of the Venus has a slightly sweet chemical odor which lingers even after a few washes. The odor is not unpleasant, but may deter some users. The material is also sticky, which can be felt when touching the body of the toy and observed by the way the thigh straps stick to it. The stickiness is much less apparent after lubricant is applied to the toy.

The 2.5 inch probe that Venus offers is less than intimidating for even novice users and would make a great first toy for this reason. The subtle textural changes on this vibe provide little to no extra stimulation. I had hoped that the Venus's antennae (or tantalizing ticklers, as the box refers to them) would tickle my clit while I wore it, but I found that I got more clitoral stimulation from this butterfly's little nose.

Like most wearable vibes, the Venus Penis "G" has it's share of issues related to comfort. For an average sized lady like myself, the Venus was comfortable to wear in my panties for about 10 minutes before it started chafing and becoming generally uncomfortable. This is due to the sticky material, but also the wide wingspan (about 3 1/4 inches) which will essentially cover most womens' entire vulva. This was no problem while I lounged about and flicked through the vibration settings with my legs open, but walking around was a bit more challenging.

The thigh straps also presented a bit of a problem. In order to make them fit, I had to extend them about half way. This was a very frustrating task since the straps stick to themselves and do not slide easily. On the other hand, once I spent about 20 minutes on the tangled mess, I felt confident that they would not move from their intended position. After several uses, they are still sized correctly.

I love the idea of having my clit, g-spot, and anus stimulated all with the same toy, but unfortunately the Venus Penis "G" just did not come through for me in that regard. I found the probe to be a little to short to really work my g-spot, the stinger fell just shy of my anus, and the antennae rested on top of my pubic mound rather than dancing over my clitoris. Of course, the logistical problem with fixing these issues from a manufacturing perspective means that they would likely create a much bulkier toy.

When you hold the Venus Penis "G" in your palm and turn it on, you'll be surprised by the intensity of vibration. However, when you strap the Venus to your body and let your hand go, it's difficult to cause those vibrations to be directed to just the right spot. Unfortunate, I think, since this is a toy which is clearly designed to be "hands off". The vibrations are focused mainly in the base of the shaft, and translate nicely to the end of the shaft if the user applies some pressure and direction.

There is a power switch on the battery pack of the toy, and the function is controlled by a wireless remote. California Exotics claims that the remote has a 32 foot distance, but I found it to become much less responsive after about 25 feet. The remote itself is very easy to use, as it has only a single button which cycles through each of the four settings with a push. While a wireless remote affords much greater flexibility in a toy's use, in Venus there are a few downsides: First, if the small "N size" battery dies in the remote you can no longer turn on your vibe before replacing the battery (there are no controls on the toy itself). Similarly, if you lose the remote, you can no longer turn on the toy.

Another unfortunate element to the Venus is that it can certainly be heard through the user's clothes, and is especially audible when the wearer is perched on a hard surface. However, when it comes to snuggling under the covers, your house mates are unlikely to notice any noise, and almost certainly won't hear the Venus through a closed door.

The Venus Penis "G" is made from TPR, which is hypoallergenic and free from phthalates. It is slightly porous though, so care should be taken to clean it thoroughly with an antimicrobial cleaner between uses.

Due to the texture and shape of this toy, it can be tricky to clean completely. This is partly because the Venus is not waterproof,and so great caution must be used to avoid getting any moisture in the battery case. For this reason, the Venus Penis "G" should be used for either anal or vaginal stimulation (not both) and should not be shared. The shape and size make condom use impractical, so good cleaning is very important to inhibit bacterial growth.

Although usually considered inferior to silicone toys, one advantage TPR has over silicone is compatibility with super slippery silicone based lubes. You may also use water based lubricant with this toy.

Because the Venus has a sticky feel to it, it's a good idea to give this little bug a storage bag of its own to separate it from your other toys. This will not only keep the toys from sticking to one another, but will help to keep the wireless remote from becoming MIA, and will also reduce the risk of imparting the chemical odor to other toys.

The packing of of the Venus Penis "G" is slightly less than classy, with a photo of a moaning model on the front. The box also shows a picture of the wired version of Venus, which is misleading. On the back of the box, a simple illustration shows the intended use of the vibrator and how to wear it. Included are California Exotic's generic instructions, which advise how to insert the batteries, store the toy, and also how to clean it.
