The Shane's World Venus Butterfly by California Exotic Novelties is a small, strap-on clitoral vibrator. It is meant to be worn against the body for hands-free fun. It vibrates nicely for clitoral stimulation and has a small nub at its other end meant to either stimulate the vaginal opening or the anus (which is not as likely, given the short length).

This toy is made from jelly which ranks a 2 on Eden's Safety Scale. It should not for any reason be shared with a partner, since jelly is notorious for soaking up and hiding bacteria. It is compatable with water and silicone-based lubricants. It has a slight drag. There is a soft, fruity scent to this toy, only noticeable when you are holding it close to your face. This smell doesn't seem to go away.

The whole toy is smaller than my hand. It features a rounded, oblong middle section that houses the internal components, inclduing the vibrator, and two soft wings. The jelly mateial is soft pink and blue in color which is very attractive. A small nub at one end of the middle section is positioned for clitoral stimulation while a somewhat larger nub at the other end provides stimulation of the vaginal opening. The wings are kind of wide, making walking while wearing this toy pretty impossible. The straps, which are a cheap elastic, are attached through holes in the tips of the wings. These straps are narrow and cheap with sliders for adjustment and hooks to keep them closed. The controller is attached via a short cord to the front of the toy. It is pink and transpartent, ergonomically designed to fit snugly in the hand with a dial on the right side. Neither the toy nor the control pack is waterproof. It requires 2 AA batteries.

This toy has one function - vibrate - which increases in speed and intensity from very low to medium-high. To increase the speed, there is a dial on the side of the control pack. The vibrations aren't terribly powerful, though for some they may be sufficient, approximately 3 vrooms. The toy is, however, virtually silent. I give it only 1 bee. The most difficult part of the toy is putting it on. Even for my size, I had to take the straps in considerably (I'm about a 13-14). I found that it is easiest to hook the straps together properly, adjust the sliders, step into the waist strap, then into the thigh straps, and pull the whole thing up. The straps are easy to figure out. The two in front hook together for the waist, while the four in back hook together for the thighs, two on each side. These straps are likely to break before long, but replacing them would be simple.

Since this toy is jelly, it cannot be properly sanitized. Cover it if possible. Do not share it. Clean it with a mild antibacterial soap and warm water or your favorite toy cleaner. Do not bleach, boil, or run it through a dishwasher. It is not waterproof, so be careful when cleaning around the cord and do not splash the control pack. Store it in a cool, dry, dark area in its own plastic bag or the box it came in. Contact with other toys could potentially damage the toy or cause it to soak up dyes from other objects.

The toy came in a small, carboard box. The front reads "Shane's World Venus Butterfly," as well as "Jelly Soft and Powerful," "Fully Adjustable Waist & Thigh Straps," and "Intense Orgasm!" It has the California Exotic Novelties logo in the bottom, left corner and features a picture of a blonde woman wearing the toy and a Shane's World T-Shirt. The back is pretty much the same, but it lists the functions and all the normal warnings. The side is the same as the front but with the added statement "Strap It On and Enjoy!" The toy itself was in a sealed plastic bag. It came with instructions explaining how to install the batteries for several different models of toys.

I was excited to try this, but it ended up falling short of my expectations. It didn't fit well, was hard to wear, and was hardly intense. As a side note, I would like to say that I doubt this could be used during intercourse because of the length of the toy.
