Pure vibes silicone # 74 - rabbit vibrator discontinued by Nasstoys - review by Medusa

Characterised by a dildo with a rotating head and a vibrating clitoral stimulator, The Pure vibes silicone #74 is a classic rabbit sex toy. With 5 1/2" of insertable length and a wide shaft, it certainly looks like a filling addition to any girl's bedside cabinet, but did it meet my expectations?

It didn't take me long to conclude that The Pure vibes silicone #74 is an effective, exciting and detailed sex toy. I did find the vibrating clitoral stimulator much more satisfying than the insertable part which, whilst quite wide at the base, has a rather narrow tip that could afford to rotate more aggressively in order to present more than the gentle tease that it actually supplies. There is a button to change the rotation direction, but I found it made no difference to my enjoyment.

The sex toy has "raised detailing on the front of the shaft for extra stimulation," but I found that the frontal vein, which inexplicable terminates before reaching the base, rubbed a little during use. However, this slight discomfort was not enough to offset the pleasure that the toy's other features brought to me.

The buttons are a little small and difficult to locate in moments of passion, or indeed at any time. This is not too much of a problem for me, as I prefer to use the highest speed and so rarely feel the need to change intensities during use. However, my partner, who likes to gradually build up the vibration strength, would find changing speeds awkward if she tried to use The Pure vibes silicone #74 alone.

I had hoped that the light up display would also illuminate the buttons, making them easy to see in the dark but alas, it does not. It just tells you which speed you're using, which is helpful, but not as helpful as facilitating button pressing would be.

There is a smiley face on the clitoral stimulator which is at best unnecessary, and at worst rather unnerving. While I like the knowledge that there's something alive inside me when I'm having sex with my partner, it's not something I want from an artificial, small mammal!

The three AA batteries (not included) are easy to insert into their cradle but rather difficult to take out, posing a problem for people who don't like to leave batteries in appliances to run down. Also, this toy does tend to sap battery power quite quickly during use. However, I was delighted to discover that unlike many other vibrators, this sex toy is very quiet so the only noise you have to worry about is muffling your own cries of ecstasy.

All in all, I'd say the The Pure vibes silicone #74 is a great masturbation aid, particularly when you're feeling lazy, but I wouldn't favour it for use with a girlfriend as I prefer to use sex toys which allow me greater control over my partner's experience such as the double ended Doppeltest Lottchen or a strap-on dildo.

The good news is that my Pure vibes silicone #74 rabbit quickly became my favourite toy for solo sex. The bad news is that it didn't live up to my durability expectations.

Whilst the clit-vagina stimulation combo made great for lazy masturbation, in the end the more comprehensive design just meant more parts to go wrong. After two months, the rotating shaft stopped rotating, after three months, the silicone exterior split and after four months, the vibrating clitoral stimulator stopped working.

Without the moving parts the toy lost its appeal - its shape makes it less convenient for manual penetration than other toys like the Leo because the rabbit's clitoral stimulator gets in the way when you try deeper thrusts.

The damage to the silicone outer layer means that water gets in when I try to wash it, so instead I have to use a damp cloth and even then, I don't think it's particularly hygienic as germs can get inside the toy.

So all in all, this is a great toy to try but is not really suitable for regular or passionate use.
