Say Yesa to the Noa

Noa is a vibrator designed to be worn during sex. The smaller, flat end is inserted vaginally to give some g-spot stimulation during normal penetration. Lelo has used their ultra-soft, FDA-approved silicone for the Noa. This makes it completely body-safe, totally odor-free, completely non-porous and hygienic. The silicone is smooth like butter, and will collect a bit of fuzz and lint once removed from its storage box. Noa has no texture anywhere, and would be perfect for any user who enjoys smooth and safe toys.

There is a ring of silver coated ABS plastic around the middle of the toy. This is where the two pieces attach to each other. Plastic is also body-safe, non-porous, odor-free and hygienic.

There are no seams or other texture that is noticeable during use. The entire toy feels smooth and soft when used. The internal part of the Noa is extremely flexible. It is made of pliable, soft silicone that isn’t squishy, but is very bendable.

Once inserted, the Noa will extend about 2.5” or 3” externally. So keep that in mind for spacing. It may prove useful to take some measurements of your own anatomy to see if the Noa’s measurements will work for you. The vibrations are most noticeable around the thickest part of the external portion of the toy, or about 0.75” up from the silver plastic ring. That is the “sweet spot” that will give the most stimulation when Noa is in use.

Also keep in mind that Noa will add just a bit of girth (about 0.8” diameter at the head) to the penetrative object it is used with, be that a toy, fingers, or a penis. The nice thing is that the girth tapers down around the vaginal opening, and will only add about 0.5” diameter in girth at the vaginal opening.

*Charging

Noa does not recharge with a magnetic charger. Rather, it has a small port that a plug is inserted into. Simply unscrew the two pieces at the silver band, and the charging port will be exposed on the external portion of the toy. This plug-in port makes charging it much easier, and there are no worries about it coming loose during charging, or getting a bad connection. It connects to its charger securely every time. Noa cannot be used while charging.

Noa comes with a 13” USB cable for charging. It is also compatible with other Lelo chargers, so it can be charged through either the USB cable, or any other Lelo plug-in charger you have already. This makes Noa very easy to power up, and makes traveling with it that much easier. When charging, Noa’s light blinks, and then shines steady when fully charged.

Upon arrival, Noa’s first charge to get it at full power took about 30 minutes. It ran off that charge on full-speed, steady vibration for about 45 minutes. The next charge (a recharge after being completely dead) took about 1.5 hours. Noa ran on full-speed, steady vibration for about 50 minutes off that recharge. It began losing just a little power after about 30 or 40 minutes, and warmed up just a tiny bit. Neither change was noticeable or enough to become uncomfortable. Its light flashes faster and faster as the battery’s power gets lower and lower.


*Functions/Controls

Already have one of Lelo’s Sense Motion toys with a remote? Noa is compatible with that remote, and by using the remote with your Noa you will be able to access more power levels, and more pattern options. Noa’s 1 control button is right above the silver, plastic band. To turn the Noa on and make it receptive to your Sense Motion remote, push the button once briefly. Noa will flash slowly, but will not vibrate. Then use your remote to adjust Noa’s power level and setting. The Sense Motion technology works with it too.

To use Noa alone without the remote, once it is flashing, simply push the same button again briefly. The toy will continue to flash and will also start vibrating. It will turn on in steady vibration mode. To cycle through the 5 other settings, push the same button briefly. Noa only cycles up by itself, so if you miss the setting you want, cycle through all the settings and start over again. When the toy is turned off, it will start up at the first, steady vibration setting the next time it’s turned on. To turn Noa off, push and hold the button for about 3 seconds, or until the toy stops vibrating and flashing. Noa cannot be locked for travel, but it is unlikely that the button would accidentally get pushed during storage.

Alone, without the Sense Motion remote, Noa has 6 total settings. To standardize my vroom and bee rating I always use the Je Joue MiMi. Noa’s vibrations are midway between rumbly and buzzy, they are nearly identical to MiMi’s vibrations. The settings are as follows:

1.Steady vibration – 2 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 2
2.Slow pulsing – 3 pulses per second
3.Faster pulsing – 4 pulses per second
4.Roller coaster up/escalating fast – 1 cycle in 1.5 seconds
5.Roller coaster up/escalating slower – 1 cycle in 3 minutes
6.Random pluses of differing strengths and lengths

When used with a Sense Motion remote, Noa has more power settings. Not only can the steady vibration mode be changed, but the power level of each patterned setting can also be changed. With a Sense Motion remote, Noa’s power settings are as follows:

1.High – 3 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 3
2.High medium – 2.5 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi between levels 2 and 3
3.Medium – 2 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 2
4.Low medium – 1.5 vrooms, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi between levels 1 and 2
5.High low – 1 vroom, 2 bees – comparable to MiMi on level 1
6.Low – 0.5 vrooms, 1 bee – comparable to MiMi below level 1


In the hand, the vibrations seem to travel well from the external part to the internal part of Noa. In use, however, the vibrations really are not felt internally.

Noa is a very low maintenance toy. It is compatible with both water and oil-based lubricants. Noa should be washed after each use with warm water and your favorite soap or toy cleaner. Since it is waterproof, Noa can also be dunked in a 10% bleach solution to sanitize it (1 part bleach to 10 parts water). Do not boil it or put it through the dishwasher because that would damage Noa’s motor.

For storage, be sure to wash and dry your Noa thoroughly, and then place it back inside its box. If you don’t want to store it in the box it can be kept in a toy pouch, wrapped in tissue paper, stored in an old tube sock, or any other number of storage options. Since Noa is high-quality silicone, and silicone is an inert material, it is safe to store it alongside other high-quality, 100% silicone toys. It can also be stored with glass, wood, plastic or metal toys. Do not store your Noa next to toys made of compound materials, such as PVC, TPR, TPR Silicone, Rubber, etc.

Like all Lelo toys, Noa comes in a wonderfully classy package. A very sturdy, white cardboard box with LELO embossed in silver on the lid. Inside the box Noa comes nestled in a custom cut, lint-free foam tray on one end, while the other end has a small flap with “LELO” embossed in silver on it. Under the flap is the USB charger cord and a 3.5” x 7.25” black, satin, drawstring pouch. On the underside of the box’s lid is another flap. Inside is the user manual, information about the 1-year warranty/10-year quality guarantee, a sample pouch of Lelo water-based lubricant, and a plastic authenticity card (the size of a credit card) that allows you to register your Noa online.

Noa just did not quite work for me anatomically. After reading this old thread on the Eden forums about clitoral spacing, I found that I am fairly widely spaced at about 40mm. Even so, the Noa overshot my clitoris by about 1” when fully inserted. I notice that the design of the Noa has the internal arm being shorter than the external arm. I think, for my anatomy, a more useable design would be a longer internal arm and a shorter external arm.

Another issue I had with Noa was the power. On its own, it is only about 2 vrooms. Once I coupled it with the Sense Motion remote I already owned, it bumped up to about 3 vrooms. Personally, I prefer a toy with 4 vrooms for clitoral stimulation, so Noa just didn’t have the power I need. Add to that the fact that the “sweet spot” of this toy overshot my anatomy, and I really didn’t feel much stimulation at all. (As a side point, I also own the Insignia Lyla 2 by Lelo, and Noa is about half the power and the size of the Lyla's egg.)

One more issue I had with Noa was that it tended to slide around internally during thrusting. It slid from side to side, and even slid out just a bit. Vigorous thrusting was not really an option for me when wearing Noa if I wanted it to stay put.

Also, keep in mind that because it’s designed for g-spot stimulation, the internal portion of this toy sits against the anterior vaginal wall. (That is the vaginal wall closest to the belly.) This design did not work for me because I prefer to feel thrusting on my g-spot. For me, Noa blocked one of the most pleasurable sensations I get from penetrative play: vigorous thrusting against my g-spot.

Noa is a very well-designed, well-made toy. It will likely be a perfect fit for the right person. It just happened to not work well with my anatomy and preferences.
