Single duty - just for booty

I have mixed feelings about this toy. On the one hand, it's great for beginners to anal play, with probes that are slim enough not to intimidate and a safe material that's soft and yielding. The vibrations are nice and strong, too. On the other hand, the vaginal probe is so slim as to be unsatisfying, and the design can be quite unwieldy if you're trying to use it on your own. However, with a partner and/or a second insertable in the vagina, this could be a very satisfying toy.

Pros
Strong vibrations, safe material, good beginner anal toy, storage-ready packaging, good for couples.
Cons
Awkward to hold and use at the same time, too slippery with lube, disappointing as a DP toy.

Use

This vibrator is ideal for those new to anal penetration. The curved part is inserted anally, pointing upward (about where the prostate would be on a guy), while the straighter, bumpy portion is inserted vaginally. The anal portion is narrow and flexible enough, and the material it's made out of has enough give, that it shouldn't be intimidating to most users.

With just a little lube, this vibe should slide in easily. I found that it was easiest to insert the anal part first, then the vaginal part, or try to wiggle them in at the same time. Initial insertion would probably be easier with a partner.

Material / Texture

The Double Duty is made of TPR, which scores a 7 out of 10 on the safety scale for materials. According to the material guide, it's safe with both water-based and silicone-based lubes. I can attest from personal experience that it works well with Sliquid H2O, a water-based lube that I enjoy.

The material is slightly tacky to the touch when dry, but quickly becomes slick when lube is added. This is good for easy insertion, but not so great for getting a good grip on the toy. My experience was that it was so slippery it was hard to keep it inserted, which made this toy less enjoyable for me since I was worried about it slipping out.

This toy doesn't have much of a smell to start with, but if you don't clean it well, it can hold onto smells from lubricant and bodily fluids, so it's best to clean the toy as soon as possible (with soap and warm water) after use.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is pretty typical for for a soft double penetration toy: two arms for insertion that branch out from a handle with a dial to control the vibrations. Some DP toys have a vibrating bullet at the head of each insertable section, but the Double Duty only has a single bullet, which is placed between the two insertable portions at the top of the handle. It's easier to picture if you're looking at, well, a picture:

The anal 'arm' is the one at the bottom, which is smooth, curves slightly upward, and has a semi-realistic head at the tip. It's more of a direct extension of the shaft than the vaginal 'arm', which branches off in a different direction and has three big bloops and a semi-realistic head at the end.

The bullet is oriented parallel to the part you insert anally, which probably explains why the vibrations are felt more strongly in this part of the toy than the part you insert vaginally.

I found the design of this toy to be quite unwieldy and clumsy. Besides the fact that lube made the material very slick, I didn't feel like it was thick enough or bloopy enough, internally, for it to stay in without trying to sit on it and/or hold onto it for dear life, all while trying to adjust the vibrations and get to a place where I could actually have an orgasm. Granted, I did have an orgasm, or at least a female ejaculation, which isn't exactly the same. I was pretty much just relieved that I didn't have to hold onto it and try to coordinate everything anymore.

Despite my design-related struggles, I'm not going to say you shouldn't get this toy if you want to try it. I think it would be a great beginner's anal toy... as long as you have a partner to hold it in there for you, or some other way to secure it so you can focus more on the pleasure than on the logistics of not letting it slip out of you.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Although designed as a double penetration toy, the vaginal portion of the Double Duty falls short. It does not carry the vibrations very well, and it didn't fill me up at all. I believe this is more due to the small angle between the vaginal and anal parts of the toy than the actual size, but regardless of the reason, I found the vaginal penetration and vibration to be unsatisfying.

But then, there's the anal part. This smooth, curved section carries the vibrations surprisingly well, or maybe the placement of the bullet creates that illusion. See, the bullet is at the apex of the two insertable portions of the vibe, which, by itself, doesn't seem like a sound design decision. However, when both parts of the vibe are inserted, the bullet vibrates - thick and rumbly - against the fleshy area between the vagina and the anus. The vibration is strong, and seems to spread around the openings of both the anus and the vagina, as well as moving down into the space between. I think this is what makes it seem like the anal insertable carries the vibrations so well, but again, the reason isn't as important as the end result, which in this case was delightful.

The vibrations are controlled by a dial at the base of the handle. The range of vibrations goes from gentle to intense, but even the lowest speed is kind of loud, so I wouldn't suggest using this if you have a roommate or people visiting.

Overall, this toy performs well as a beginner's anal vibe, but the part you insert into the vagina is disappointing, both in size and vibrations. As I mentioned earlier, it's also pretty unwieldy, especially with lube, so it would best be used with a partner to hold onto it and control the vibrations.

Care and Maintenance

Because TPR is somewhat porous, it's important to use a condom or other protection if you want to share this toy, or use part of it vaginally after using the same part anally.

Also because TPR is somewhat porous, it's important to clean this toy as soon as possible after using it. This will prevent it from hanging onto smells, like those from lubricants and bodily fluids. Unlike other materials, TPR cannot be disinfected with boiling, but you can clean it fairly well with warm soap and water.

Packaging

The packaging is not discreet at all. The vibrator is clearly visible in a clear plastic blister case molded around the toy. The front has the words Double Duty at the top, and, in smaller letters, Cooch 'N' Booty. When I saw that part, I almost wanted to send it back just on account of being so cheesy... but I acquiesced and decided to give it a try.

The one thing I can say about the package is that it's good for storage. The toy fits in it perfectly, and as long as you clean it after use, putting it in the molded plastic container will keep it from picking up lint, hair, lube, germs, or sticking to other slightly sticky toys. So I give the packaging an A for function and an F for discretion. It's up to you which is more important.
