Dr. Laura Berman Jasmine - traditional vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by MzRaine

I was excited about this toy because of the name attached to it. Dr. Berman is a respected sex educator and definitely knows what she is talking about. That's a difference that was apparent about this toy from the start. The majority of sex toys have blurbs on the packaging that describe the toy and the wonders it holds for the user (usually in exaggerated terms). The Jasmine has a brief description of what the toy is intended to do, but also gives advice on how best to use it to get the most satisfaction, including using it in conjunction with other toys; I was impressed by that.

You can see what the toy looks like right away; the packaging is a basic, clear bubble pack. It snaps together and is sturdy enough to reuse for storage purposes. The toy itself has a pleasing, almost delicate look. Eight inches long, just under 1.5 inches wide in a soft violet color, the toy has a nice head and consistently-sized bumps down the entire shaft. The material looks like it should be soft, perhaps even a bit pliable. But even though the finish on it has a velvety feel, the toy is quite rigid and straight.

The velvet finish of the toy feels nice on the clit and is very comfortable sliding in. I really like the length as well, with a solid 7 inches to insert. It also takes lube well (I used a water-based one). The dial on the base is sturdy and easy to use. Cleanup was a breeze and the flat bottom is nice so the toy can stand on end for drying. The Jasmine feels good overall, but I think a bit of flexibility or softer material and a slight curve at the end would have been an improvement.

I think the strength of the Jasmine's multi-speed motor is the real selling point. The initial speed was stronger than I expected and stronger than a lot of vibrators in the same price range. The speed you can work up to is definitely impressive. I like really strong vibrations and this one was better than my favorite toy. Quite honestly, it got me wet very quickly. The downside is the noise; once you get to the final speed I don't think you would be able to hide what you're doing behind a closed door.

I'm very happy with the Jasmine and would recommend it as a good, all-purpose vibrator.

This has become one of my go-to vibrators. It still provides a strong vibration - I can't tell any difference from when it was new. And despite reasonably regular use, everything is still in good shape; no cracks, stains, discoloration. I stand by my original comment that a bit of flexibility would be an improvement for this vibrator. But overall, it is still a very good, reliable toy.
