Mood flirty - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Kitka

The Mood Flirty by Doc Johnson is best used as a clitoral vibrator because it is not insertable at all. You can use it on other erogenous body parts like nipples, labia, penis heads, perineums or around the anus to name just a few.

This toy is great for beginners because it is easy to use and less porous than jelly. It is however more porous than silicone so it should be covered up when using if you plan on sharing it with someone who you're not already fluid-bonded with.

Flirty is also waterproof so it would be great for those who enjoy bath or shower play. Otherwise this can be used as foreplay with a partner or during a solo session to tease yourself. It is a bit too bulky and awkward to be used during penetrative sex so it does have some limitations.

The Mood Flirty is made of mostly plastic but where it meets your body is made from TPE. TPE has a 6/10 saftey rating on the Eden safety scale and is less porous than Cyberskin but more porous than silicone. It is also latex- and phthalates-free. The plastic has a safety rating of 8/10 on the Eden safety scale and it is non-porous, phthalate-free and hypoallergenic.

The TPE feels somewhat squishy and smooth and the plastic is quite firm, unforgiving really, but smooth as well. Neither material had an odor upon opening and this toy came in pink with a silver accent ring around the battery compartment.

Since TPE is pretty grabby on skin you will want to use some kind of lubricant to get things moving smoothly. Silicone and water based lubricants are safe to use with TPE so no worrying about degrading the material of your toys here.

The massager unit of the Mood Flirty is 5 3/4" long with a 5 1/4" circumference, a diameter of 1 1/2" and it only weighs 0.4 pounds. It is an hour glass shape that tapers down in the middle and flares out again. There are two buttons set into the body of the massager unit and it has a silver accent ring around the battery compartment. Also, the top has a plastic threaded section where the interchangeable heads screw on to the massager unit.

The three interchangeable heads included with the massager unit screw on to the top very easily and stay put once on so there are no worries about them coming off during use. One head has bunny ears, one has a tall curved side and a low nubbed side and the last head is just a smooth dome. When put onto the massager unit all the attachments only add about an inch or so to the overall length.

The only gaps or seams are at the point where the battery compartment screws on and where the heads screw on to the massager unit but these don't cause any hard to clean areas.

There are two buttons set into the body of the massager unit; a dedicated on/off switch and a function button. These controls are not lockable for travel so removing the batteries before packing this toy away in your luggage is a necessity to avoid embarrassment later on at the airport.

The Mood Flirty has seven different functions that are described below:

4. Pulses, fast pulses
5. Steady, slow, steady, slower steady
6. 2 pulses, 2 harder pulses

The vibrations are easily felt at the top of the massager unit and travel fairly well to the different heads, although most will want more power in this toy to really enjoy it. This toy only takes 2 AAA batteries that are easily inserted by unscrewing the end of the massager unit, popping them in and then screwing the end back on.



The Mood Flirty is moderately loud in use and it will most likely be heard through covers and quite possibly through a closed door so dorm use is not really recommended with this one.

The Mood Flirty is easy to clean since it is waterproof. Just wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner or wipe it down with your favorite toy/body wipes. It is not recommended to boil the heads for sterilization so do not go tossing them in the dishwasher either.

This toy did not come with a storage pouch so you will want to either make one or purchase one to put this in before storing to keep dust and lint off the TPE and to keep it from touching other toys.

The Mood Flirty came in a black box with the toy clearly visible in the front window. The back of the box gives a lot information about the toy using a colored-dots system and six different languages. The toy and the head attachments were resting in a clear plastic tray that pulls out of the box for easy access.

The box makes terrible long term storage and it not discreet at all so it should be recycled when empty and wrapped up if gifting it someone.

I was lucky enough to win this along with the Mood Seductive in one of the Doc Johnson giveaways a while ago. Have to say I'm glad I didn't pay for this because it really wasn't all that enjoyable for me.

I was very happy to receive this along with the Mood Seductive from the giveaway but my elation didn't last long. I opened up the Mood Flirty and took out all the pieces; played with the power and function button of course to see what the power was like. I thought it was going to be something new to love but sadly it just was not powerful enough vibration wise for me.

I did go through and try out all the different attachments and found that, like I've noticed before, I did not get any kind of enjoyment out of the bunny ears. The dome was okay for broad clitoral stimulation but it works better for general massage of non erotic body parts like the back and/or sore muscles. The one attachment that I found most enjoyable in a clitoral sense was the one with a raised side and nubs. Just a little lubricant on there and it was good to go. I never got off with this toy but it was fun to try.
