So much fun!

I just can not say enough good things about this toy! As long as you are fine with the rather petite size and the moderate vibrations, I think that every girl should at least give it a try. Between the awesome materials, seven settings, waterproof capabilities, and pretty design this is certainly one of my all time favorites.

Use

The Envie Ripples is a fairly petite, silicone toy that is pretty darned versatile. It's got enough power and functions to make most people happy, and it's design is going to make it great no matter what you want to use it for.

Because of the design, the main use of this toy is for internal stimulation and thrusting. The loop at the base is great to use for holding on to, and the ripples make for a really unique sensation. It has no g-spotting curve, but if you have an easy to reach g-spot this isn't a problem.

The Envie is also great for clitoral stimulation. The round tip as well as the bumpy shaft both make for great stimulation, but they're not as pinpoint as I know a lot of people prefer. If you're looking for something to use externally to warm up this is a fine choice.

This toy is also anal safe because it's easy to hold on to and the handle creates a bit of a 'flared base.' It seems like it would be a bit intense for beginner anal use, but I know a lot of people who really like 'ripply' toys. As long as you're safe about it, go ahead.

If you're looking for a toy to introduce as a couple, I actually think that this would be a great choice. It's not phallic enough or large enough that it's intimidating, but it's also versatile enough that it would be great for foreplay. It's also a good length that it can be used externally during intercourse.

I also would highly recommend this toy as a first toy altogether. The slim girth, interesting design, power, and ease of use all would be great for someone figuring out what they're interested in. It's not going to be as 'cute' as a bullet, but I think that the ability to play around with so many different uses makes up for the appearance.

This toy 100% passes Ryu's dorm seal of approval. It's quiet, waterproof, and easy to care for. It's also small enough to stash most places, though it's not going to fit in a coin purse or make up bag easily. If you're living in close quarters with others, this is a great toy to consider.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of a combination of silicone and plastic. The inside of the shaft is plastic, as well as the handle, but the outside of the shaft is made of plush, black silicone. You can't remove the outside of the sleeve, but you can kind of rotate it a bit.

Silicone is rated a 10 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale, and it's both nonporous and body safe. This means that microbes can't thrive under the surface and that it doesn't contain any ucky chemicals that could seep into your body. On it's own you can boil silicone to disinfect it, but you can't boil this toy because of the plastic components.

Plastic is rated an 8 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale. It's also nonporous and body safe, but plastic is much firmer than silicone is. The plastic shaft gives this toy firmness enough that it's great for thrusting. You can disinfect plastic safely by wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution.

The silicone ripples have quite a bit of give to them, so you can squeeze them, but the hard plastic underneath still makes this rigid enough to thrust with and to put g-spot pressure. If you're looking for something soft, this isn't going to be your best bet.

While lube is recommended, it's not a necessity. The shaft and the buttons do have a bit of drag, but if you either plan on using this externally or you usually only rely on your natural lubricant you can get away with not needing any lube. If you do use lube, you should avoid anything silicone based.

Overall, silicone and plastic are both awesome materials that are easy to care for and are great to use. They're not going to harbor bacteria or degrade, and they don't contain any ucky chemicals. I would highly recommend both materials for beginners and advanced users.

Design / Shape / Size

I was pleasantly surprised when I got this toy in the mail, just because it was smaller than I thought it was going to be. It's comparable in size to the Evolved Bliss, but I have to say that between the settings, power, and noise level this one is the better of the two.

The Envie Ripple Massager is 7 inches long in total, with almost 5 of those being insertable. It's short enough to fit into a makeup bag, but you still can insert it about as far as an 'average' penis. If you need a lot of length this may not do it for you, but it should be able to reach the g-spot of most ladies.

Girth wise this toy is 4.5 inches around the widest point, but because of the ripples it doesn't feel quite as thick as a toy that was that thick through the whole shaft. This is great news for us that aren't as fond of thick toys, but it's not going to provide a stretching feeling at your entrance like some will.

Even though it's not curved, the firm shaft and ripples make this a great toy to stimulate my g-spot. I feel similarly that if you use this toy anally it would be great for prostate stimulation. The rounded tip also helps to make this good for fairly pinpoint clitoral stimulation.

The handle of this toy is a small loop that makes it super easy to hold and thrust with. It's got a silicone lining, so even if your fingers have lube on them it's easy to grip. I can easily fit my entire ring and index finger through this hole (my middle finger takes a push), but if you have wide fingers you may have to only insert the first two joints.

If someone saw this on your desk, it would draw attention and it looks pretty much like a sex toy, so you should try and stash it out of site. It's fine to travel with, and the small size makes it small enough to fit in a makeup bag.

Overall, this is an awesome toy design for those of us who like more petite vibrators. It's versatile enough for me to recommend it as a first toy, and it has enough going for it that even people with hundreds of toys will be able to appreciate the design.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Now for the question you're all wanting to know... Does it have power? My response to you is that yes, it has a fair amount of power, but it's not going to blow you away. If you have any plug in toys or Jopens you may not be thrilled, but it's great for the price and batteries it uses.

You control the toy entirely with the one, green button on the front of the handle. You press it once to turn it on, and it always turns back on to setting number one. You can change the settings by pressing the button again, but you can not go backwards through the settings. The settings are as follows:

1) Low (1.5 vrooms, .5 bees)
2) Medium (2.5 vrooms, 1 bee)
3) High (3.5 vrooms, just under one bee)
4) BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ
5) BZZZZ BZ BZ BZZZZZ BZ BZ BZZZZZ
6) bbbbbbbBBBBBBZZZZZZZZ bbbbbBBBBBBZZZZZZ
7) BZBZBZBZBZBZBZBZZZZZZZ BZBZBZBZBZBZZZZZZZZ

And then it cycles back down. You can turn this toy off at any point in time by holding the power button down for just a few seconds.

It's also entirely waterproof, and I've both used it in the shower and submerged it to clean it without any issues at all. It's safe to say that this is a great bath or shower time companion. It also makes it super easy to clean because you don't have to worry about what parts can or can't be gotten wet.

It's also great for those living with others because it's so quiet and easy to care for. It's not going to be heard through a door or over the shower, and it almost can't be heard an arms length away. While it may not be good if you want to use it in the same room as someone else, any other situation it would be perfectly quiet.

The quality of vibrations is fairly buzzy, but as someone who loves deep vibrations they're still deep enough to make me a happy camper. While they're about halfway between being buzzy and rumbly, I think that it's a good middle ground that most people will appreciate.

Overall, this toy is fairly strong, very quiet, and has a bunch of really neat patterns to play around with. Unless you're someone who needs a lot of oomph, this is going to be perfect. I would highly recommend this because of the functions to both beginners and advanced users.

Care and Maintenance

Though this toy doe shave ridges and such, I personally find it super easy to care for. For the bits between the bumps I just use my nails to get at, though you could use a q-tip or a toothbrush if you're being super cleanly. I wash mine with an antibacterial toy cleaner, but soap and water or a toy wipe both work great as well.

You can also disinfect this toy with a 10% bleach solution if you plan on switching orifices or users. This prevents the bacteria from continuing to live on the surface and keeps you from getting any infections. I have also heard that rubbing alcohol is effective.

I keep this in a cool, dark place with the rest of my toys. It's not much of a lint magnet at all so it's easy to toss just about anywhere, though you should not store it in contact with other silicone based toys if you can help it because they could react together and leave you sad. Similarly, you should avoid using silicone lube on the Envie.

Packaging

The Envie Ripple Massager comes in a classy box, like all NS Novelties toys that I have gotten. There are two parts to the box, the outer box and the inner box, though they both look very similar.

The outer box has an actual size image of the toy on the front of it. This is great if you happen to be shopping in a brick and mortar store. On the side is a bit of information about the toy and it's care, and on the back is a diagram that highlights the selling points of the toy.

The inner box has a window where you can see the Envie, and it has no other images. There is some more care information on the side, but the back is blank. You open the inner box up like a shoe box, and the toy is situated inside in a foam insert.

There are no lewd sayings or naked women on the box, though it is pretty obvious what it is. I would not hesitate to wrap this one up and give it as a gift. I would love to use it as storage because it's so classy, but it's so much bigger than the toy that it's just not practical.

Experience

As soon as I saw this toy I just wanted to try it out. It's ridges seemed like just enough texture for me, and I am always one to go for anything that lights up. I also was a huge fan of the entire brand NS Novelties, so I was stoked to get this as my monthly assignment.

And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Between the perfectly petite size, the many patterns, and the versatility this is one of my new top 10 toys. It's perfect to use both in and out of the shower, and it's great for both new and seasoned vibrator users.

I am giving this toy 5 stars, because the only real fault that I can find with it is that it may not be powerful enough for some users. As long as you know how much oomph you need before you order (and you know that 3.5 vrooms is enough for you) this is going to be something that I think all people should try out.
