Passion wave teaser - rabbit vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by Red

The Passion Wave Teaser from California Exotic is a dual action vibrator (a.k.a.“rabbit” vibrator) with a special twist. Instead of the traditional rotating that the shafts of dual action vibrator often offer, the Passion Wave series from California Exotics waves along the shaft, undulating away as the clit stimulator vibrates. One of the wildest things about this toy is that it is clear, which means one can observe the working of the wave motion – a bonus that will appeal to the sexy/geeky engineer in some.

The shaft of the Passion Wave Teaser is an impressive 1 5/8” in diameter with 5” of insertable length. The tip of the shaft is soft squishy TPE with a lovely swirl decoration, while the shaft of the toy is a big stack of TPE sheathed plastic ribs which simulate the waving motion (excellently, by-the-by). The toy can wave in either direction (in or out), which is toggled by a button in the center of the control panel on the base. The wave motion has three speed settings (in both directions), and really feels noticeable, pleasant, and unique. The wave motion is quieter than the clit stimulator, and can be easily muted by a closed door.

The clit stimulator of the Passion Wave Teaser is shaped vaguely like a tongue, with a large broad area that can rest up against the clit as the toy is vibrating and waving away. This is an especially effective clitoral stimulator for someone who generally finds that the clit stimulators on rabbit vibrator are always “placed wrong”. This one isn't in a strange place, but it's large and broad and flat, so its very accommodating to variations in anatomy, really making this a one-size-fits-all kind of toy. Power wise, it has three levels of vibration, which vary from moderate to decently strong but are quiet enough to be muted by a blanket and/or a closed door.

The Passion Wave teaser's internal components are sheathed in a waterproof layer of body safe, phthalates-free TPE, which means its compatible with silicone and water based lubricants. The base of the toy houses the control panel (which has an exciting light-up LED display) and is made of hard ABS plastic. The base opens via a simple screw open cap at the end, exposing the battery shuttle and compartment, as well as the o-ring which helps the toy stay waterproof. The battery shuttle accepts three AA batteries easily and without any confusion or trouble, and loads in to the toy similarly hassle free. TPE is more porous than silicone, and thus cannot be sterilized. As such, if you wish to share this toy an/or use it anally, make sure to use condoms to keep it clean. To clean it up after use, simply wash the toy – without batteries in place – with hot soapy water and/or anti-bacterial toy cleaner, and allow to air-dry before storing. TPE toys can pick up textures from things they're stored against or in, so it's a good idea to store this toy wrapped in a soft lint free cloth and/or a zip lock bag.

The Passion Wave Teaser did the trick for me, so to speak. I am generally not much of a fan of rabbit style vibes as they often don't hit the right spots, but this one did a fantastic job, and it did this by being adaptable instead of specific. The wave motion is subtle, but feels intense because the shaft is so girthy – and every woman has nerves that can be stimulated around the entrance of the vagina, so it's going to feel *nice* on anyone. The clit stimulator, as mentioned, is broad and flat, making it perfect to hit (probably) anyone's clit while the shaft is inserted. That said, the wave motion was subtle, and I would have preferred patterns that switch directions and change speeds. Furthermore, I would have liked the clit stimulator to have a bit more kick – the broad tip meant that the vibration were really spread out and diffused somewhat.

Like most dual action vibrators, the Passion wave teaser Proved to be a bit of a paperweight in my toy drawer. Here's the thing. The waving motion feels really cool, but when push comes to shove, the clit "tongue" isn't oriented right to really knock my socks off, and I would much prefer it weren't there so I could use another vibrator instead.

Speaking of ergonomics, this design of vibrator is a tad frustrating to use for solo masturbation - the handle just ends up being pretty from from where a comfortable grasping position would ideally be during use. It's set up a bit better for a partner to control - but no matter what, the overall angle is no good for gspot fans and/or clit stimulation fans.

I don't have the patience to use this toy any more, but I would consider buying another offering from this line that was shorter and without an external clit stimulator, because the waving motion feels fabulous and unique.
