Gyration Sensations mini thumper - discreet massager discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Breas

The Mini Gyrating Thumper by Cal Exotics is available in three very bright colours: orange, purple, and pink. I received the orange coloured toy. Thumper arrived in a small, cardboard box. The front of the package states the product name, a couple product features, the company name, and has an image of the toy. The back of the packaging states a few more product features and website. The packaging can be used for storing the toy or it can be recycled.



Inside of the box, the toy is sealed in a plastic bag. I didn’t notice any scent or taste to Thumper. They toy is made of ABS, which is plastic. There is a coating to the toy that makes it feel very soft and velvety. There is a silver coloured ring near the bottom of the toy. This ring is also made of ABS and is silver-plated. This ring doesn’t have the same soft coating that the rest of the toy has. You can use either silicone or water-based lubricants with the toy.

Thumper has a total length of approximately 5 1/8 inches. The insertable length is just less than 3 ¾ inches. The toy consists of four bulges. The fourth, or bottom bulge, sits right below the silver décor ring. You could insert some of this bulge if you wanted more insertable length because the button to control the vibrations is at the very bottom of this bulge. Inserting a bit past the décor ring won’t get in the way of anything. There is a very subtle seam running up the one side of the toy and down the other. It’s not noticeable and should not bother anyone, even those who are seam-sensitive.



The head of the toy is the tiniest bulge. It measures just less than 1 inch in length and has a circumference of 3 ¼ inches. The second bulge is approximately 1 ½ inches in length, with a circumference of 4 ¾ inches. The last bulge is 1 inch long and has a circumference of 4 5/8 inches. The very last bulge (the base of the toy) is not flared or larger in circumference than the previous two bulges. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend the toy for anal play.

Thumper requires 2x AAA batteries, which are not included. The base of the toy (right beneath the silver ring) twists off to access the battery compartment. The cap is very easy to open and close. There is a clear O-ring around the compartment to ensure that no water gets into it if you were to bring the toy into the bath or shower. It’s a waterproof toy- just be sure to close that lid tightly. I submerged the toy in water for quite awhile while I cycled through the different speeds. I didn’t have any issues with the toy in the water. It works perfectly.



There is only one button to Thumper, which is located at the very bottom of the base. The button is clear in colour so I thought that maybe it would light up when the toy was on… it doesn’t. To turn the toy on, you just click that button once. You’ll be met with a low, constant vibration. There are 3 speeds to Thumper: low, medium, and high. There are no patterned vibrations to the toy. To cycle through the different speeds, just continue clicking that button. To turn the toy off, you need to cycle through all three speeds and than press the button once more.



With the toy being fairly small in size, and the fact that it’s super easy to use (only has one button), it’d be a good choice for beginners. The vibrations are strongest at the tiny head of the toy, but can still be felt through the entire body. The noise level will depend on whether you are using the toy internally or externally. Externally, the toy can be heard through the covers and possibly through a closed door when on the highest setting. Internally, the toy can be heard through the covers but not a closed door.

What’s nice about the vibrations is that they are rumbly, not buzzy. The first and second speed are not that much different in intensity level. The first speed is probably a 2 ½ vroom level out of 5, the second is a 3 out of 5, and the third is like a 3 ¾-4 out of 5. 3 ¾ out of 5 may sound weak to some people but a 3 ¾ rumbly vibration feels much stronger than a 3 ¾ buzzy vibration. Rumble vibrations are much deeper.

I really liked the feeling of the two bulges beneath the head. The tiny bulge, which is the head, really didn’t do anything for me. It’s too short and too thin compared to the rest of the toy. It’s cute to look at but didn’t add anything in terms of stimulation. I found myself inserting the toy a bit past the silver ring because I didn’t find the insertable length to be as satisfying as I would have liked. I’m definitely not a “size-queen”, but Thumper is short (hence the name “mini”).

You can clean the toy with soap and water, toy wipes, or a toy cleaning spray. Furthermore, you can sterilize the toy by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol or a bleach/water solution. I’ve given the toy a 4 out of 5 because it has a lot of great qualities! I think it’d be a nice toy for those who like shorter insertable toys that are rumbly, waterproof, easy to use, and inexpensive. The one star was deducted because I feel that the head of the toy should have been longer and/or a bit wider. It also would have been nice if the toy had vibration patterns but I usually just use the highest, constant vibration function to my toys anyway.
