The Smooth Ride to DP

The Nick Hawk Nightstand Pleaser is the perfect introductory vibrator for any gay male. The design isn't over-the-top, so immediate play is absolutely possible. The vibrations are on the weaker side, but that is probably a good thing for the beginner because a sensitive user will be perfectly pleased and a not-so-sensitive user will have a good idea of where to go from here. If you're experienced with vibrators, your best bet is going to be to move onto something a little more challenging.

Use

For men, the best use of this vibrator is going to be for the head of the penis and other sensitive, external areas, such as the back of the knees. For anal play, the toy is delightful at the opening of the anus, but unless you’re very sensitive altogether, the vibrations are bound to go missing once it has made its way inside of you. The design makes it extremely easy to insert, and, with some direction, it is capable of rubbing against the p-spot. However, without any sort of head or bulb at its end, may not do much for the user without specific direction.

This toy works for both solo and partner play, but, from my experience, is best used to relax you before you take on the real thing. If you’re looking for a solo adventure, this toy may be enough for a simulation of a good romp, but the arguably average size will leave some desiring more.

Material / Texture

This vibrator is extremely smooth. Right out of the package, its satin finish was incredible to the touch, so I immediately knew that this was going to be a soft and silky ride. However, I wouldn't say that the texture added stimulation. Instead, it made stimulation more accessible. It didn't have any sort of smell to it, despite being directly from the manufacturer/warehouse. Even after multiple uses, it is still odorless.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this vibrator is exactly what one would expect it to be. It's straight, solid, and smooth. The design made insertion easy, but it would probably have been even more comfortable if it had been slightly curved. That would have aided in experimenting with double penetration, as my boyfriend's penis is also slightly curved, but it also would have made it easier to hit that certain sweet spot, in general. Despite that, I would say that this vibrator was perfect for use by a beginner, such as myself. The size of the vibrator is perfect: a nice, average six inches, and only an inch thick. For some, the girth will be seen as a bit small, but as my boyfriend's penis is on the thicker side and often difficult to take, this vibrator is great for preparing me for him. Easy to hide? Maybe. The box isn't over-the-top, but anybody who sees it will immediately know what you're carrying. It isn't a large package, though, so should fit comfortably in any luggage, carry-on, purse, etc.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Perhaps this is because I am a male and, therefore, use this toy a bit differently than women might, but the vibrations in this toy were much weaker than I had anticipated. I expected a toy with thrilling vibrations, but even the highest setting was, for the most part, ho-hum. The box says that there are "10 functions of intense vibration, pulsation, and escalation," but my partner and I were only able to count seven: three steady vibration settings and four patterned settings. This was a little disappointing because, as stated before, the only function that made any sort of difference to our pleasure was the third, or highest, pulse.
The vibrations can be felt throughout the device, and while the button to power on/off and switch the functions is easy to use, it is also a bit in the way. While pleasuring my partner, myself, or when being pleasured by him, the button was often accidentally pressed during the repeated insertion of the toy. The vibrator could be easily reset to the correct function again, of course, but this got a little annoying after a while. It's definitely not a noisy toy at all and is also waterproof, as promised, but those two guarantees do little to make up for the fact that this "ten function" (seven function) toy is only good for use on one setting or to loosen you up a little if you have trouble taking the real thing.

Care and Maintenance

This vibrator is very easy to take care of and clean. It isn't realistic or porous, so there are no veins, creases, or anything of the sort to make cleaning difficult. Astroglide is my lube of choice, which held well to the toy, but was also easy to remove. My partner and I used both baby wipes and soap with water to clean; both cleaned it just perfectly.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The vibrator was packaged in a box just narrow enough to hold the vibrator, but wide enough to fit one or two more toys or cock rings and batteries, etc. It did include a sheet that shows in which direction the batteries need to be inserted and also how to turn off the toy. However, it also came with a folded chart of instructions for another toy's battery, which was unnecessary and, at first, a little confusing. As mentioned before, the packaging isn't the most discreet. In fact, the word "GIGOLO" is printed in a large text on the box, which is bound to pique anybody's attention.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

As a new resident in the world of sexual toys and devices, I think I can say that the Nick Hawk Nightstand Pleaser was the perfect introduction to vibrating companions. Not being very sensitive, the vibrations didn’t affect me much, inside or outside of my body. However, the highest vibration did give me some amount of pleasure when the vibrator was directed to my p-spot. Though I do bottom the majority of the time, I’m not always able to take my partner’s thick penis at the drop of a hat. The smaller size of this vibrator was perfect for preparing me for him and actually aided in experimenting with double penetration. In fact, if the toy was slightly curved to match his tool, double penetration would have been not only possible (as it was), but even enjoyable. My boyfriend is much more sensitive than I am and greatly enjoyed the toy inside of him, but he also enjoyed it when rubbed against the head of his penis. He tops most of the time and isn't always able to take my penis when he bottoms, but this vibrator is thin enough for him to use comfortably at a moment's notice. Perfect.
