Turn the toy around and hold the dolphin's head against your vulva for an intense massage session. The Dancin' Dolphin by Cal Exotic Novelties is both intense and versatile. While it won't please everyone, there's still a lot of pleasure to be had.

Designed to stimulate both the clitoris and vagina, the Dolphin worked best for me after a little warm up, since intense vibrations feel unpleasant if I'm not already turned on. It provides some g-spot stimulation with a little creativity, but is better suited for general vaginal stimulation and intense clitoral vibration.

The Dolphin's material is translucent, fairly smooth, and has a visible seam that I didn't feel at all during use. The thicker part of the shaft with the rings is quite squishy, but the rings themselves are easily felt even under compression. The cute dolphin's head feels deliciously firm, which isn't a surprise since it houses the bullet. The dolphin's snout is flexible and vibrates easily. I’m pleased to report that the Dolphin is both odorless and tasteless.

I didn't realize that the "bending" attribute of this toy meant that there was a flexible metal rod inside the shaft. The way the rod bends and holds in position reminds of an adjustable desk lamp. This allows for a lot more body types to enjoy both penetration and clitoral stimulation from this toy. Deep vagina? Small vagina? Far away clit? No problem! The Dolphin bends to your will. It won't always stay in the position you want, but it can make the shaft feel significantly longer or shorter, depending on your tastes.

This friendly-looking vibe might be too small for size queens, but it hopefully won't be too big for the majority of users. With its squishy texture, the 1 1/8" diameter feels nice, but definitely not too full for me. And again, if you only want a thinner portion inside, just bend that shaft.

After being surprised by the unique versatility of the shaft, I was taken aback even more when I turned on this vibe. It packs way more punch than you might expect from two AA batteries, even on its lowest setting. The Dolphin has a dial base that lets you increase the vibration intensities smoothly. I could feel three distinct areas of intensity, but those with more attuned vaginas might argue there are four or five speeds. Suffice to say, there's a lot of power in this toy, and whether you choose to have a three or five course meal, your appetite will be sated.

Because of the smooth-turning base, it's a little difficult to remember where one setting stops and another begins. It's equally likely that you might accidentally turn the dial the wrong way, or turn it off.

As a big fan of rechargeable batteries, I was sad to find that the Dolphin doesn't accept rechargeable AA's. Technically, it does accept them, but it won't let them leave. I used a pair of pliers to yank out the stuck batteries. Stick to regular batteries for this toy!

I didn't have any problems with water getting in the battery case during washing or rinsing. Just make sure the base is securely tightened before you get it wet.

On a less positive note, the noise this toy makes can be quite loud if the dolphin's snout isn't in contact with anything. Usually the toy emits a high pitched, tinny vibration sound. Especially on the lowest setting, sometimes it sounds like a buzzy electric razor.

The Dolphin is made of porous TPR, and it's easy to clean with soap and water or toy cleaner. I don't recommend sharing share this toy because of its porous surface. If you do share, cover it with a condom and/or Saran wrap.

Because the base dial turns easily, I recommend removing the batteries before storing the toy.

TPR is usually compatible with both water-based and silicone lubes, however, the box suggests "Always use a water based lubricant with this product for maximum pleasure." Cal Exotics may just be encouraging the use of lube in general, but I'd do a spot-test with silicone lube first before slathering it on.

The Dancin' Dolphin came in a traditionally colorful Cal Exotics cardboard box that described its features. The background pictures are somewhat abstract, but they appear to show a woman embracing another person, and the woman's hand bears a wedding ring. Overall, the box is not threatening, but I'm going to recycle it rather than reuse it. Sadly, there were no instructions or options for permanent storage included with the vibe.

I expected the base of this toy to be better at "muffling" the vibrations on the handle end. The hand that held the toy felt tingly after each use. Use caution if your hands are sensitive to strong vibrations.

The snout provides extremely pinpointed vibrations, which were too intense for me. My favorite ways to use the Dolphin are with its head bump on my clit (no penetration), and with part of the shaft inserted, and the vibe bent enough so the top of the dolphin's head reaches my clit instead of the snout.
