Vibro pod sex toy review

The vibro-pod is not worth the money, but the bullets are nice (and will work with other toys). If you want an iPod compatible toy, look elsewhere.

extremely useful review
When I heard there was now a toy to hook into my iPod I was so excited. I’ve seen a few different models out there but only in newspaper and magazine articles, never on any of the sites I usually purchase from – until now. I just discovered the Vibro-pod|Bullet by California Exotic and it was exciting. I got this for my self to use – but also thought it would be great to use with my boyfriend, as when we have sex, I often put a bullet on my clit to give us both some extra stimulation. He also loves playing with my bullets, and loves music so I thought this would be a nice treat for the two of us.

When my box arrived in the mail I was like a little kid in a candy store – but when I actually opened it up and ripped the package apart I was very disappointed. The design of the controller/battery compartment looks very cheap and cheesy and there are a lot of wires. When I get new toys I just wanna open them up, put batteries in and go. With this I wanted to put it back in the box – and I did once or twice – simply because I did not want to sit and read directions or try to figure out how to put it all together and make it work.

When the description says it comes with “lengthy cords” it wasn’t lying. Not only are they so long they get tangled, they are so long you need to find some place to put them all without them getting in the way. I really liked the bag it came with – as it conveniently keeps all the wires together in storage so they don’t get tangled with my other toys.

As for my experiences, again, I was a bit disappointed. I used them both alone and with my boyfriend, and he used it without me. It did bring us to orgasm, however it felt exactly like my other bullets. They were both made of velvet like material that feels great, and they were interchangeable – and my two favorite sizes! I would definitely give the bullets 5 stars. Not only do they feel nice, but they also pack quite a bit of power.

My dilemma is more with the design and they way it actually works. The power is awesome, but I couldn’t feel the music like I thought I was going to. The bullet vibrated to the volume of the song, as opposed to the beat. And once I got it vibrating, it would stay on at an almost steady pace unless there was some kind of pause or quieter moment. I tried a lot of different songs and had no luck.

The buttons were a bit annoying. I could see the light changing but I couldn’t feel a difference with it plugged into my iPod. It was easy to turn it on and off after you figure out which button does what, and if you need to you can just unplug the bullet as a kill-switch when you need to turn things down quickly.
Follow-up commentary
This toy has made it to the toys I rarely use case. I don't think I've used it since I reviewed it. I have however used the bullets with other toys. They were working great but then the little one broke. The big one is slowly breaking. Time for some new bullets.

It seems like these bullets that work with an ipod don't get very good ratings.  What a hefty price tag for something that functions comparable to a regular bullet.  Thanks for the review, now I know that I was right in not buying one of these yet.

Bulma... The bullets that come with it worked well with my Impulse Micro Arouser  until the other day. I seem to break all my bullets. They don't last long.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of iPod toys are all hype. I'm glad you got to use the bullets at least. My favorite bullet is the Xtreme g-spot bullet. It hasn't yet broken on me.

Wow, it didn't even vibrate in time with the music?  Doesn't seem much point to all the hassle.

I have never really considered investing in an iPod interactive device because music isn't usually part of our lovemaking, but I would think that in order to have the thing have vibrations that actually start and stop with the music, the music would actually have to start and stop which is pretty unusual in today's music. There is usually some bass line that continues throughout a song regardless of the melody. You might be able to find some classical music that actually has starts and stops and see how that works, but I don't know that this concept would ever really work well. I guess if you had a song that slowly built to a dramatic climax in volume it might be able to drive the bullet slowly to a dramatic climax in vibration, but I don't know. Great review!

Just to the volume. It was super lame. Not even worth my time. The bullets were nice while they lasted!
