iVibe pocket rocket with iLube by Doc Johnson - review by Airen Wolf

You know how you always hear about a product but kind of disregard it? The Pocket Rocket was that kind of product for me. I liked the idea but just never got around to actually ordering one, until now. As it was, it was just an afterthought, a sort of "what the hell" type thing. It quickly became the hit of the party!

I purchased the iVibe Pocket Rocket with iLube by Doc Johnson reasoning that I needed some silicone lube so if the vibe was a bust then at least I'd get some nice lube. I had no giant expectations and I was, I'm happy to say, totally wrong. The product arrives in a very nice plastic box that can be reused as long as you are careful not to tear the seams when opening the box. It has a molded plastic tray that holds the 1.7 fl. oz bottle of lube and the diminutive little 4 inch rocket. The pump top of the lube bottle twists to the left and locks so it won't leak.

The lube is silicone based and includes Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone and Dimethiconol. It claims it is extra long lasting and never sticky but I found that as a lube it does get sticky when used as a massage oil, but then, it isn't marketed as a massage oil. If used to enhance the pocket rocket, it works like a champ. It is also a nice lube for penetrative sex but to be totally honest there are better products out there, like Pink from Empowered Products. Still, it does make the pocket rocket glide lovely over the skin and its small size and locking cap make it great for traveling or to carry in your purse.

According to the package, the rocket I chose was "grape flavored"; tasted like plastic to me, but whatever. (The things I do for Eden Fantasy, lemme tell ya.) Anyhow it is a lovely purple shade, stands 4 inches tall, has a 3 inch circumference and is completely plastic except for the three metal vibrating bearings in the top. A slim little guy with a white plastic cap with molded nubs for extra stimulation. This rocket is powerful enough that it can make you numb if you use it directly on the clitoris without the cap. The cap does decrease the vibes a bit and with a dab of the lube it is a wonderful treat. I like strong vibrations on the clit and without the top the bearings had a smooth, lovely feel to them.
This toy is not meant to be inserted, it's just a stimulator. I used it on my nipples, over the labia, around the anal area with great results. It's not the quietest toy I own and could be heard through blankets and a closed door. Still the noise is not set at a pitch that is distracting so I wasn't too bothered by it.

It takes one AA battery and indeed, the toy is just barely larger than the battery so I was a bit surprised by the power this little baby puts out. It twists at the base to turn on and is only one speed. To be honest you only need one speed but I would have preferred a choice. The only complaint I have with this toy is it's entirely too easy to twist the battery casing off while turning the toy on and off. Twist too far and it just falls into two parts which is distracting when playing with a partner.

The toy is not waterproof but can be easily cleaned with toy cleaner or a wipe. The plastic top can be removed and washed in soap and water to remove excess lube and body fluids.
This toy is hard plastic earning it an 8 on the safety rating scale and is compatible with all types of lube.

Sigel was complaining about a muscle in his knee that was tight and asked for a massage. I wondered if the pocket rocket would be able to work on the muscle better than my hands so I got it out along with the lube. He has had surgery on his knee and has a long scar running right across the top of his knee. The lube soaked into the scar and left a slick, lovely area for a quick massage. It did get sticky after a while and needed to be reapplied but it was still adequate. When I ran the pocket rocket over his aching muscle he sighed with relief and quickly tried to appropriate it for himself. No freakin' way I'm allowing that to happen so I guess I'll buy him his own. He loved the massager with the plastic cap on run all over his body! This toy definitely gets his seal of approval and will be in our "arsenal" for many years to come.

I still love my pocket rocket! The ilube is pretty standard for a silicone lube but it has stood up well and is still one that I use frequently. The lube does add a special something to the pocket rocket. The rocket is still living happily in my bedside table and we play often! It is the go to when I need a quickie and for when it's not going as easily as I normally experience...it is a never fail orgasm!
