The Wisper Tranquility is a straight vibrator with a rounded tip. As such, it's suitable for both internal and external stimulation. Many users may find that it performs better for clitoral stimulation than for g-spot stimulation as it is fairly short and has no curve to the shaft. It can be used on dry land or in wet environments since it is completely waterproof (the o-ring is secure and the cap screws on reassuringly tightly).

The big pro of this toy is the material: it's made of body-safe, phthalates-free, hypoallergenic ABS plastic. As such, it is odorless and tasteless. The plastic is completely smooth and the shaft has one horizontal ridge to give it some texture. Plastic is completely rigid with no give, but the diameter of this particular toy is fairly small so it might be a good choice for someone who prefers smaller toys.

The Wisper Tranquility could be called a small traditional vibrator or an over-sized bulging bullet-style vibrator. It's about six inches in length (roughly the length of my hand from wrist to fingertip) and 1 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest point, the rounded tip. From the rounded head, the shaft flares out about halfway down and then tucks back in again. There are two silver accent bands around the bottom half of the shaft. It's a very sleek, classy looking toy.

This vibrator has three settings: all are constant vibrations. The weakest setting is a faint buzz and the strongest setting is a slightly louder faint buzz. The motor is located in the rounded tip, but the vibrations (such as they are) transmit fairly well down the rest of the shaft. Cycling through the three speeds is done by pushing on a button on the bottom of the shaft (which makes nice loud clicky sounds). This is not a vibe for anyone who requires even moderate vibration to get off. However, the weakness of the vibrations leads me to a positive aspect of the toy: the noise level is commensurate with the vibrations strength, which is to say that this is a very, very quiet toy.

The Wisper Tranquility is, in fact, like a whisper (albeit a misspelled one). The level of vibration seems to me to be suitable for foreplay and teasing, but not for any serious solo play (unless you're so sensitive that having someone blow gently on your clit could get you off. Then this would be an excellent choice). It's small, non-intimidating, and constructed sturdily, so it could work as a good starter vibe, but the majority of users will find the vibrations to be too weak for anything but teasing.

Caring for ABS plastic is fairly simple: while the material cannot be sterilized (so use a condom if sharing), it can be cleaned with soap and water or antibacterial toy cleaner. This toy is waterproof, but make sure that the battery cap is screwed on tightly if submerging.

The Wisper Tranquility comes in a simple plastic clam-shell package with a paper insert. Mercifully, the clam-shell simply pulls apart. There are no operating instructions included, which is fine because the vibe is intuitive to operate EXCEPT FOR ONE THING: when you open the battery compartment, there is a skinny plastic sleeve inside indicating which direction the batteries should face. I initially thought that was its only purpose, but it turns out that you must insert the batteries into the sleeve, and insert the sleeve into the vibrator or the batteries flop around and do not make the connections necessary for the circuit to work. DO NOT accidentally throw this sleeve away.
