Use

Stormy's Lighted Gem is a cute little vibrator used to tease the clitoris, and maybe some shallow vaginal penetration. I am not sure I'd do full blown vaginal penetration with it as it has a small jelly sleeve on it, and mine is easy to pull off. I think this toy would be better suited to people who enjoy jelly toys, and for people who like stronger toys. Or for couples who want a bit of foreplay.

Material / Texture

Stormy's got a jelly sleeve, and it is my first jelly product. I wasn't sure how I would like it at first, mainly because I had read that they don't last long and that they are the least safest of all the materials they make adult novelty toys out of.

To my surprise, this toy didn't have much of a smell or taste to it. I still wouldn't suggest sucking on it, unless you're into that sort of thing of course. It's kinda bumpy, which I like, it adds just enough texture to the toy so the bit of vaginal penetration is very pleasurable for me.

I would say this toy is meant more for people wanting to explore textured toys. The ridges of it are nice, but I don't see more advanced users wanting to buy it, unless they like the simple texture of it.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of Stormy's Lighted Gem is like that of most other traditional vibrators. It does get slimmer in the middle of the toy, and you can clearly see the batteries in it. I like the slimness of it in the middle, because it fits in my hand easier for when I have play time. It's size is average, not quite as big as some toys that I have in my collection, but not as small as others either. I guess I'd put Stormy in the beginner-intermediate category, it'd be a great toy for someone who's looking for a bigger toy, but doesn't want a 9 or 10 inch vibrator.

This toy would be suitable for travel IF you are traveling alone, or with a spouse or partner. I would not take this toy with me if I were traveling with other people because it sounds like a motorboat.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This lighted gem's controls are located on the bottom of the toy, with a twist dial, directly underneath the battery compartment. The dial is easy enough to move, and gradually increases power, but isn't so easy to move that the slightest touch or bump causes the power level to change.

The stronger vibrations are felt in the upper half of the toy, not necessarily at the tip, but close enough that it can be quite strong still. There is one thing that comes with these strong vibrations, and that is extremely loud noise! It almost sounds like a motorboat to me.

This toy is also waterproof, and has an o-ring that is fairly clear to see. It performs decently in water, but I mainly use it in bed.

There is one added feature that this toy has, and that feature is a L.E.D. bulb that is located in the tip of the toy that is supposed to light up when you turn the toy on. Hence the "lighted" part of the name. Mine doesn't light up however, but it was a feature I could care less about.
    • Easy to use
    • Not discreet at all
    • Powerful

Care and Maintenance

The upkeep of this toy is a bit more time consuming than the regular plastic and silicone ones. Jelly products are very porous and are very unsafe, so its important you follow directions to clean them. The care is still easy enough, I just take extra time cleaning it. I also put the toy in a condom, because it is so porous. I store it with my other toys.
    • Easy to store
    • High maintenance
Follow-up commentary
Stormy's lighted gem was a good vibrator while it lasted. Unfortunately, it stopped working about two months ago, and I had to dispose of it.

Great review! Thanks for including material info on this! I had assumed it was hard plastic, it looked that way to me. I didn't even know it was jelly. Even though it's small, the ridges do look like some fun! I love texture like that. It always pleases me. Thanks for sharing about this toy. Unfortunately, I think I'll pass on it. Too bad it wasn't made of silicone, right?
