Does Having a Big Head Really Make You Smart?

Although these feel great while inserted and are a great way to tease yourself all day, I worry that they are too large to be actually helping to exercise my Kegels. They are very fun and would be great for beginners but I will definitely be upgrading soon to something smaller.

Use

Smartballs by Fun Factory are designed to exercise your Kegel muscles, or the muscles surrounding your pelvic floor. If you don't know how to identify these muscles they are the ones that you would contract to stop the flow of urine, but this is not the only thing they do. These muscles are also the ones that contract during orgasm, so the stronger they are the stronger orgasms you will be able to have. You can start exercising these muscles by simply isolating them, contracting, and then releasing them; once you're comfortable doing that you can purchase Smartballs which will act as weights that you need to work to keep in. In addition, these Smartballs provide pleasurable sensations which will trigger your muscles to contract on their own.

Material / Texture

The Smartballs Teno Duo are made of medical grade silicone which is great for long term wear and can be cleaned easily and has no smell or taste. The cord connecting the two balls as well as the retrieval cord are also both made of silicone. From the feel of it, I would guess that the silicone is covering a rigid plastic sphere, it seems as though the areas that are the secondary color (in my case white) are also exposed portions of the plastic. Inside the larger sphere is a smaller one that rolls around, bouncing off the walls to create a deep rumbling like sensation. Although I have no way of knowing for sure what these are made of without breaking them (which I am certainly not willing to do) they feel too firm to be silicone so I would guess they are plastic as well. The silicone creates a mild texture over the balls but since they aren't designed for thrusting you will only notice it during insertion. I didn't notice it all that much, so I don't think it would turn off anyone who is opposed to texture.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the balls is great and very well thought out. All the way down to the retrieval cord and the small divot in the bottom of the bottom ball for ease of insertion.

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in the size. The spheres are quite large, approximately 4 3/4" in diameter at their widest point. I find them to be rather difficult to insert and need to use lube, and once they are in I don't feel like it is a challenge to keep them in. I worry that they are not providing the workout they advertise. Removal is particularly difficult as the lube I used to insert them has since dried and they tend to get caught on my pubic bone. I have only removed them while standing and I think they may be easier to remove while laying down and lifting my hips but I have not gotten the chance to try this yet.

Luckily, because these aren't very large, they fit perfectly in a purse. Though, I would recommend using a small storage pouch so they don't collect dust.

Performance

Smartballs are designed with a dual purpose in mind, they are to help exercise your pelvic floor while also providing pleasure during long-term wear. When I wore them they created a very interesting sensation, though not very intense, and not constant. Every once in a while I would move in a certain way and feel them move, almost like a very deep rumbling vibration, and it just acted as a reminder of what I was wearing. While the feeling itself was not very intense, it still kept me focused on my whole pelvic area and kept reminding me that I had them in as my own little secret. That was what was a turn on for me. Although you can hear the balls when you shake it in your hand there is no way they would be heard in use.

Unfortunately, the main function of these is to exercise my muscles and this is where I feel like they are lacking. They just seem way too big to actually require effort to keep in. It actually requires more effort on my part to take them out than it does to keep them in! They seem like they would be great for beginners who want to experiment with wearing something in public, but don't want to worry about it falling out. Personally, I will be purchasing something smaller next time.

My only other complaint is the retrieval cord. Although silicone is the most sanitary option, I found it wasn't flexible enough to fit properly when wearing long term. It tended to poke and rub uncomfortably against my labia. I found the best thing to do was to curl it back so it fit against my ass and then to put my thong on to hold it in place.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

These are very easy to care for, simply wipe them down with warm soap and water before and after use. I would not recommend boiling them because of the plastic, and I wouldn't share them because it does feel like some of the plastic is exposed and if this is the case you could not sanitize them. I store them in a small pouch in my purse so I can use them whenever I like, though it is a bit more difficult if I don't bring a sample of lube with me.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

While the packaging is not over the top with half naked women all over it, it does have a window showing the toy, so it is not very discreet. It also lists many facts about the toy in multiple languages making it one of the most informative packages I've seen. Unfortunately, the font is super small and almost impossible to read, let alone get a good picture of.

Included in the package is also some basic directions and information about the toy as well as a sample of Fun Factory's Toyfluid, their lubricant. While the packaging could be kept for storage I prefer using a small pouch, as the package is pretty large and bulky compared to the product.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Very informative

Experience

In preparation for writing this review, I decided I would wear the Smartballs all day on one of my busier days so I could try them in a variety of situations.
First, I went to the gym, one of the things I was most excited for. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. Instead of creating a constant sensation and motivating me to go faster while I was on the Arc Trainer, I barely felt anything. The regular, repetitive movement didn't have the balls bouncing around. It seems that sudden changes in movement create the most sensation.

During the day I did some cleaning and enjoyed this a bit more because I was moving around in a variety of ways and occasionally I'd get a jolt of sensation.

Finally I went to work and since I work in retail, I'm moving around the store quite a bit. This seemed to be the most pleasurable way to wear them. In addition to the sensations from the movement, it was also fun knowing that I was in public and no one knew what I was doing. Unfortunately, by this point in the day I had been wearing them much too long and had become somewhat desensitized to them. If you choose to wear them for very long I would suggest removing them and reinserting them with lube periodically. It makes them feel better and also makes them easier to remove.
