Choosing The Right Ben Wa Balls For Your Anatomy

So, this is a general question for all the women out there. I recently purchased Fun Factory's Smart balls Teneo Duo and they're my first set of ben wa balls. I spent quite some time analyzing the different types of ben wa balls and felt comfortable enough purchasing the ones from Fun Factory after the great reviews. Now that I've gotten them and tried them a few times, I'm sort of disappointed and left wondering if I'm doing something wrong (since many others seem to love them).

For me, the balls are very cumbersome to insert. The product isn't huge by any means. I own vibrators with a larger circumference than the Teneo Duo. Yet, everytime I've struggled to insert them (even with lube). Additionally, I can't feel any vibrations or movement. I know they're not necessarily supposed to be arousing. But, I literally can't feel anything. While, when I hold them in my hand and move them slightly, I can feel the movement without a problem. So. I'm looking for advice from any women out there.

Should I have started with smaller sized ben wa balls? Does the material of the balls make a difference in sensation (metal vs. silicone)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have both the original Smartballs and the Teneo Duo. I can offer some personal insight into one of your problems, and will take a stab in the dark at the other.

First, as to insertion, my stab in the dark is: are you using lube and inserting the balls one by one? This toy needs lubricant, as its silioone creates a lot of friction and "drag." I swab some lube on the top half of the first ball, and a little around the neck of the second. I also find the finger insertion grip to be useless for the first ball. You have to hold the first ball on its own and pop it in there, then use the finger grip for the second.

As to the vibrations, my personal experience is that I didn't feel them at all when I first started using the smartballs, but the sensation improved as my grip did. I didn't find that the vibrations stimulated involuntary muscle contractions or gave me a passive workout out of the box. I had to use them for a couple of weeks and do a lot of deliberate squeezing before the process got more automatic.

Your mileage may vary, as everyone's anatomy is different, but my advice would be to give it a couple of weeks of daily wear and see whether your opinion changes. I love mine now and feel that they provide a PC muscle workout that is superior to kegel exercises sans equipment.

Hope this helps.

So the sensation improves over time? I've never been impressed by any balls, because I can't feel them. I think I'll take your advice and try to get some regular use out of mine so maybe I can see what all the fuss is about.

Thanks for the thorough reply, Amazonia.

In terms of insertion, I've been doing exactly as you wrote. I put lube on the balls and grip the first one to insert it. Then, I sort of use the indentation on the second one (sometimes I just grip that one too) to get it in. I definitely noticed a difference when I tried insertion with lube. However, it felt like more of a size issue rather than the drag of the silicone (even though I have toys larger than the Smart balls, as I mentioned). Not entirely sure what it is. Maybe it'll get easier over time.

Based on your experience, I'd imagine mine will probably be something similar. I haven't had mine for that long. So, I guess it's a matter of giving it a few more weeks. My "milage" isn't exactly that high. I'm in my early 20s. I currently use toys a few times a week and that's the extent of things. Currently not sexually active. So, I would consider my anatomy to be relatively toned. That's why I was wondering if I might have been better off with smaller Smart balls. But, I appreciate you telling your story. It makes me want to work with the Teneo Duo more rather than giving up with them.

Have you tried inserting them while aroused? The vagina lengthens and loosens up as you become more aroused, which would make insertion of anything easier. Try to go for a clitoral orgasm before inserting them.

Thanks for the suggestion. No, I haven't tried doing that. But, it's definitely worth a shot. Thank you. :]

Hi there,
When I first got the duo balls I have both the orginal and the new ones (though prefer the orginal) I found I had trouble inserting them and getting them to sit comfortably once inserted. I hold the first ball between two fingers and insert it (with some lube) adjust it and then insert the second and move them about until they sit comfortably.

What works for each of us is different, if they still give you trouble I'd say look about for some more you thing might be easier to manage. The site has a fantastic range, Fun factory even have a single ball it might be an idea to see how you go with this?

As for not being able to feel them? My advice is to get active! I use them when I am doing active housework and have even taken to wearing them out powerwalking. I don't find them hugely sexually stimulating but I find the results really pleasing, the more active you are when you wear them the greater sensation you'll get out of them, just like shaking them in your hands.

I also have both the original and this new version, and immediately when using the new balls I noticed that the inner ball in the new set does not seem as bouncy. I only wore them once and decided to go back to the old set, but your post makes me think that perhaps I have to break them in or something? I've had the originals for years and years, so I can't remember what they felt like when new.

As for difficult insertion, I think that it is mostly due to the shape. The newer ones were a little easier to get in, mostly due to the indentation on the second ball.

Galaxei,

Thanks for asking the question. It's been one that's on my mind, but I didn't know if people would answer. And thanks to everyone who answered, this is probably helpful to more people than just us!

Thank you for the question, Galaxei! I hope that yours work out. I've been wondering about the "sizes" of these, so this post was just what I needed!

Thank you to everyone for the detailed advice!

I realize this post is old, but I'm curious to know what ever came of your opinion/feelings with them? I honestly think it sounded like they were too big for you! I tried Smartball Uno and had some serious pain and discomfort. Absolutely could not use it, so I switched to the Luna Mini's and Bedroom Kandi's because they're soo tiny. Those were perfect! See, when the ball is too big for you vaginal canal, you won't be getting a workout anyway. For me, it was like the huge ball was digging so deeply against each of my walls that there was no need for a workout, that sucker was embedded in there!

However, I've been using Luna Mini's daily for about 4 months now -- love them! They never cause me pain/discomfort and they give me a good workout. I know I'm using my muscles with those. As for the BK kit, I am not impressed. I don't understand why, but it feels like I'm getting no workout with them.

If you ended up giving up on the ball, I think you should certainly try a smaller one like Luna and see if that was the problem. It really sounds similar to my own. So even though this is an old post, I'd love to hear what ever came of it for you?
