Pop Goes the Teneo

The Smartballs Teneo Duo were disappointing not because they were unpleasant, but because I couldn't make them work. Using only the first ball is very pleasant and works out well enough.

Use

This toy is best suited for women who have a longer/larger vaginal canal, those who have given birth, or those whose cervix sits high in the vaginal canal. The intended use for the toy is a vaginal exerciser, while I purchased it originally with the intent of having something I could wear while I was out and about for a little kinky thrill. I'd caution against using it anally, as there is only a retrieval string, so it could be easily lost.

Material / Texture

The Smartballs are made from a velvety textured silicone that has little to no scent, even straight out of the packaging. They also have a slightly raised ribbed texture along the contours of the balls. I wouldn't recommend them for beginners as the texture makes them difficult to insert. Although, unlike most ribbed products, I've found the texture of the Smartballs to be overall quite pleasant.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

I have to be honest, I'm not a fan of the design of this product. The balls are supposed to sit up inside the vagina and encourage the pelvic floor muscles to clench, but because my vaginal canal is fairly short when I'm not aroused and the "string" between the balls is rigid. It works like a spring to push the lower ball downward so that if I don't keep my pelvic floor muscles clenched at all times during wear, it will come to rest in a position that when I clench them again, it pops out.
    • Discreet look/design

    • Futuristic

Performance

I love the fact that motion makes them vibrate and the body friendly material but the size just isn't comfortable. Insertion is a bit difficult, and they would be better if there was a string like the retrieval string between them rather than the semi-rigid "string" they have.
    • Hard to figure out
    • Uncomfortable

Care and Maintenance

Because they're silicone, the Smartballs are easy to care for. They can be bleached, boiled, or cleaned in the dishwasher, although with mine I simply clean them with hot water and antibacterial soap. They have a tendency to attract lint though, and I store mine in a cosmetics bag to keep the lint off and to protect them. Silicone is compatible with water based lubes, and mine came with a lube sample which I never used.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
These have been sitting at the bottom of my box, not getting any love since my last review. I'd have to say that for me, they're a complete flop. It's a pity, too. I really wanted to like them.

Sorry you didn't like these. I have them as well and love mine, but I have a little boy so maybe having a kid does make a big difference like you suggested. You might have some better luck with smaller excercise balls out there though.

Thank you, stainedclear. I suspect I would, I'm looking into getting the Teneo Uno, actually. I assume I'd have better luck with a single one.

I saw the Uno version as well. I actually thought about getting it for light days. Good that they make them for people that can't quite fit the Teneo balls.
