Smart Balls Make the Grade
This product is much more than advertised. It's a vaginal muscle tightener, with the added bonus of doubling as a delightful sex toy.Published: September 1, 2009
Pros:
Versatile, easy to use, fun!
Cons:
Can cause distracting sensations while driving.
Hey folks, boxersoverbriefs doesn’t have a vagina with which to try out this product, so he’s asked me, his lady friend and partner, to put in my two cents. And with that, on to the review:
The Smart Balls Teneo duo is a remarkably well-made toy. First of all, Fun Factory packages everything up nicely and includes fairly extensive instructions (and diagrams!), so getting started is a cinch. The silicone outer layer makes it easy to clean, and doesn’t have the icky chemical smell present in some other products. Both balls have small ridges, which I suppose are meant to add pleasure, but are really more of an aesthetic thing. The second ball has a finger-sized groove on its end, giving the user better leverage for insertion, which is especially useful when sampling the trial-sized packet of lube that comes included with the toy.
It should be noted that silicone-based lubes are a no-no here; they will degrade the material. Water and oil-based lubes on the other hand are a-ok. The extraction cord is “elastomed” coated in silicone, making it stretchy and ensuring that you can’t “accidentally” pull the balls out at an inopportune time, but strong enough to withstand a forcible yank.
While the Smart Balls are advertised as vaginal muscle strengtheners, my experience is that they could easily be marketed as more of a straight-up sex toy. When I first got the product, I put it in for an afternoon of running errands. Within each hollow outer ball is a weighted inner ball, which rattled around whenever I moved, causing slight vibrations within my vagina. Hint: the greater the movement, the greater the rattling.
My partner jokingly got me to skip around a bit and it felt great. Even just sitting at the right angle caused pleasurable feelings, and driving over speed bumps was dangerously distracting. I can only imagine what bouncing around on a trampoline would do! And not only was there constant physical stimulation, but the psychological thrill of doing something secretly naughty, in a public setting, was quite delightful as well.
In the bedroom, the Smart Balls are a diverse product as well. When pulled upon gently, the springy removal band pulls the outer ball into contact with the outermost ring of vaginal muscles, which gives a wonderful sense of tension. My partner masturbated me like that, pulling the outermost ball slowly out, then pushing it back in, and I had one of the quickest orgasms of my life. (Granted, I had been wearing the balls all day and was horny as hell to begin with). We also tried anal intercourse while I had the balls inserted, and the added feeling of fullness and pressure was pretty great.
I can’t speak yet to the muscle strengthening properties of the balls, as I’ve only used them a couple of times. It will be something to remark upon in a follow-up review. Overall, I highly recommend the Smart Balls Teneo duo. They’re easy and enjoyable to use, versatile, and they (theoretically) keep your cooter tight to boot!

Have you tried these or something similar?

I'm curious to hear about how long (daily and over the long term) you wore them, and what the results were. Could you tell a difference?

My understanding is that they can be worn all day. But when I try to wear any toy for a prolonged period of time (more than 1 hours) I find that I get dry and the toy gets uncomfortable and I have to take it out.
As for telling a difference: I try to remember to do some Kegel exercises a few times a day, and I've noticed a difference since I started. Since these toys are a Kegel exerciser, I assume that if they do what they're meant to do, then yes, you would be able to tell a difference. These are at the top of my wishlist right now. Maybe I'll get them soon and I'll be able to give you an answer myself! -
never tried them. Looks cool though

Choosing The Right Ben Wa Balls For Your Anatomy
-
So, this is a general question for all the women out there. I recently purchased Fun Factory's Smart balls Teneo Duo and they're my first set of ben wa balls. I spent quite some time analyzing the different types of ben wa balls and felt comfortable enough purchasing the ones from Fun Factory after the great reviews. Now that I've gotten them and tried them a few times, I'm sort of disappointed and left wondering if I'm doing something wrong (since many others seem to love them).
For me, the balls are very cumbersome to insert. The product isn't huge by any means. I own vibrators with a larger circumference than the Teneo Duo. Yet, everytime I've struggled to insert them (even with lube). Additionally, I can't feel any vibrations or movement. I know they're not necessarily supposed to be arousing. But, I literally can't feel anything. While, when I hold them in my hand and move them slightly, I can feel the movement without a problem. So. I'm looking for advice from any women out there.
Should I have started with smaller sized ben wa balls? Does the material of the balls make a difference in sensation (metal vs. silicone)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -

I can offer some personal insight into one of your problems, and will take a stab in the dark at the other.

First, as to insertion, my stab in the dark is: are you using lube and inserting the balls one by one? This toy needs lubricant, as its silioone creates a lot of friction and "drag." I swab some lube on the top half of the first ball, and a little around the neck of the second. I also find the finger insertion grip to be useless for the first ball. You have to hold the first ball on its own and pop it in there, then use the finger grip for the second.
As to the vibrations, my personal experience is that I didn't feel them at all when I first started using the smartballs, but the sensation improved as my grip did. I didn't find that the vibrations stimulated involuntary muscle contractions or gave me a passive workout out of the box. I had to use them for a couple of weeks and do a lot of deliberate squeezing before the process got more automatic.
Your mileage may vary, as everyone's anatomy is different, but my advice would be to give it a couple of weeks of daily wear and see whether your opinion changes. I love mine now and feel that they provide a PC muscle workout that is superior to kegel exercises sans equipment.
Hope this helps. -

I've never been impressed by any balls, because I can't feel them. I think I'll take your advice and try to get some regular use out of mine so maybe I can see what all the fuss is about.

Between the Smartballs Teneo duo and the regular Smartballs

Quote: Between the Smartballs Teneo duo and the regular SmartballsThe regular smart balls are smaller in diameter and circumference. So pick which one you think would be more comfortable for you.

The Teneo Duo are also made out of silicone, while the regular Smartballs are made of Elastomed.
