These balls are inserted into the vagina, and are intended to be left there for sequentially longer intervals (20 to 30 minutes a day, for 6-12 weeks). They are meant to strengthen your PC muscles by forcing contractions due to their weight and movement. They are like ben-wa balls in that the have an inner ball that rumbles around causing them vibrate subtly. These little guys (each being slightly smaller than a golf ball) were very enjoyable during use, and we both felt a difference almost immediately in the tightness felt during intercourse.

They're constructed of nonporous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, food-grade, latex free silicone (elastomed). They are very smooth; however they do have some ribs that swirl through them. Their size is big enough to insert but not too small where they feel like they may come loose. They are made by Fun Factory, a German company known for their quality in construction and research. They seem extremely durable and I cannot imagine any wear and tear issues.

Smart Balls come in a variety of colors, there is no variety in size.

They have a loop to pull on for removal, and come out as easily as they went in. It's been recommended to use a slight amount of lubrication, but be stingy, as they may want to come out with too much.

These balls are also touted for incontinence, I have no such problems, but as they definitely impact the PC muscles, it's easy to see how that could affect incontinence issues arising from weak PC muscles.

Smart balls are super silent and when inserted cannot be heard at all. The only way any would know you were wearing them would be the smile on your face. I ended up wearing them all day long, even though at most times I forgot I was wearing them.
Experience
These fit comfortably inside me, I read that you should insert one ball and then wait a moment for the next, but they inserted rather easily. They were very enjoyable and it got me in the mood for later activity. Stairs are an extra plus, so skip the elevator.
Follow-up commentary
If we could stay more disciplined in using these it makes a difference. I still like them and they hold up well. Imitators seem to get bad reviews. I'm glad we went with fun factory smartballs.

So they weren't arousing then since you sometimes even forgot they were in? How exactly did they feel other than just "very enjoyable"?

Also, it would be smart to note to not use silicone lubrication with these.
What do you recommend for cleaning/care/storage? Is the box good enough?

Did these come with a sample of lube?

They are arousing to me because they make me feel horny and ready for action when wearing them. It's a great feeling but very subtle. They start to make you very lubricated if you know what i mean so after hours they start to want to fall out. But i do forget they are in after awhile if I'm doing stuff around the house or taking care of the kids. They don't come with lube but i've never needed any to insert them.

  • Have you tried these or something similar?
    • I'm curious to hear about how long (daily and over the long term) you wore them, and what the results were. Could you tell a difference?

I'll be interested to hear people's responses to this. My understanding is that they can be worn all day. But when I try to wear any toy for a prolonged period of time (more than 1 hours) I find that I get dry and the toy gets uncomfortable and I have to take it out.

As for telling a difference: I try to remember to do some Kegel exercises a few times a day, and I've noticed a difference since I started. Since these toys are a Kegel exerciser, I assume that if they do what they're meant to do, then yes, you would be able to tell a difference. These are at the top of my wishlist right now. Maybe I'll get them soon and I'll be able to give you an answer myself!
    • never tried them. Looks cool though

  • Choosing The Right Ben Wa Balls For Your Anatomy
    • So, this is a general question for all the women out there. I recently purchased Fun Factory's Smart balls Teneo Duo and they're my first set of ben wa balls. I spent quite some time analyzing the different types of ben wa balls and felt comfortable enough purchasing the ones from Fun Factory after the great reviews. Now that I've gotten them and tried them a few times, I'm sort of disappointed and left wondering if I'm doing something wrong (since many others seem to love them).

For me, the balls are very cumbersome to insert. The product isn't huge by any means. I own vibrators with a larger circumference than the Teneo Duo. Yet, everytime I've struggled to insert them (even with lube). Additionally, I can't feel any vibrations or movement. I know they're not necessarily supposed to be arousing. But, I literally can't feel anything. While, when I hold them in my hand and move them slightly, I can feel the movement without a problem. So. I'm looking for advice from any women out there.

Should I have started with smaller sized ben wa balls? Does the material of the balls make a difference in sensation (metal vs. silicone)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have both the original Smartballs and the Teneo Duo. I can offer some personal insight into one of your problems, and will take a stab in the dark at the other.

First, as to insertion, my stab in the dark is: are you using lube and inserting the balls one by one? This toy needs lubricant, as its silioone creates a lot of friction and "drag." I swab some lube on the top half of the first ball, and a little around the neck of the second. I also find the finger insertion grip to be useless for the first ball. You have to hold the first ball on its own and pop it in there, then use the finger grip for the second.

As to the vibrations, my personal experience is that I didn't feel them at all when I first started using the smartballs, but the sensation improved as my grip did. I didn't find that the vibrations stimulated involuntary muscle contractions or gave me a passive workout out of the box. I had to use them for a couple of weeks and do a lot of deliberate squeezing before the process got more automatic.

Your mileage may vary, as everyone's anatomy is different, but my advice would be to give it a couple of weeks of daily wear and see whether your opinion changes. I love mine now and feel that they provide a PC muscle workout that is superior to kegel exercises sans equipment.

      Hope this helps.

So the sensation improves over time? I've never been impressed by any balls, because I can't feel them. I think I'll take your advice and try to get some regular use out of mine so maybe I can see what all the fuss is about.

  • What's the difference
    • Between the Smartballs Teneo duo and the regular Smartballs
    • Quote: Between the Smartballs Teneo duo and the regular Smartballs
The regular smart balls are smaller in diameter and circumference. So pick which one you think would be more comfortable for you.
    • The Teneo Duo are also made out of silicone, while the regular Smartballs are made of Elastomed.
