Gets the job done

Overall, I'm not impressed with Astroglide. It receives a lot of hype, and I didn't find it to be anything special. It works, don't get me wrong, it still works as a decent lube, but it has few redeeming qualities besides the smooth texture.

Use

As far as sexual lubricant goes, Astroglide is a little overrated. There is nothing wrong with it, but it's not great either. This lube makes EVERYTHING slippery, yet you still need to keep adding regularly to keep up the lubrication. I've never had a reaction to the product ingredients, and my toys have had no reaction either, but it still makes me crazy to have to deal with the clean-up.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It's easy to pour, but despite its reputation, I find that Astroglide dries pretty quickly. It really leaves a tacky feeling to everything, including body parts you're convinced you never got near the lube.

Taste / Aroma

There was no taste, aside from the typical chemical undertones. The smell was pretty neutral, neither good nor bad, which can be nice if you don't want to overwhelmed by fake fruit scents.

Performance

I have to wash this lube off of everything, including any clothing it's come into contact with. I also feel like I go though it pretty quickly -- maybe it's a personal use thing, but I tend to have to re-apply.

I must agree, Astroglide is just OK. That's all I can say. I have to reapply it much too often to be a lube that I would want to purchase again. An old friend told me about it a long while back, but I like others that I have used more.

I never bothered buying a whole bottle of Astroglide. I've gone through enough sticky sample packets to know I don't want it. Nice review.

      I would definitely agree with you there! I always used to use different KY ones and the occasional one from different surprise-party type companies, but there was always something about them that I hated. Finally I was introduced to astroglide and haven't used anything else since :D
    • Astroglide is ok, but I find it doesn't work that well for anal sex. I use Maximus for that, as I am naturally a wet person, and don't really need lube for anything else.

    • Can you believe there are 98 reviews on Astroglide? I was just browsing through lubes and thought I might find a good one to review, and I saw that it had 98!!! No kidding, check the page! What do you think of this, folks? Are you as surprised as me?
    • Most likely because reviewers starting out have to review cheaper items first. I'd guess that lubes and massage balms/oils would be many reviewers' first picks since they'd want to buy the stuff anyway. :P
    • A lot of people use Astroglide, so it doesn't surprise me. I reviewed it myself :)
