Okay in a pinch, but it contains sketchy ingredients.
I personally wouldn't buy Astroglide if other options are available. I prefer silicone lubes for sex, but I'd rather go with a glycerine and paraben-free water-based lube for use with silicone toys. It just dries out too quickly to be my go-to water-based lube.

Pros
Compatible with silicone toys, inexpensive, readily available
Cons
Thin texture, dries out quickly, contains ingredients that are controversial
In terms of texture, this lube is pretty thin. It feels nice and slick between your fingers and when you first put it on, but in my experience, it dries out way too quickly. It requires a LOT of reapplication. However, since Astroglide is water-based, it's safe to use with pretty much any toy on the market, including silicone toys, so that's one point in its favor. It is also compatible with condoms, so there's point number 2. Since the lube is water-based, be prepared to reapply it VERY often if you want to use it in the shower. It washes away very quickly, but that's the nature of the water-based beast.
Then there's the problem of the ingredient list. Astroglide contains both glycerine and methylparaben. There's no firm scientific evidence that glycerine causes more yeast infections, but vagina-owners who are prone to the "yeastie beastie" find that they have more infections when using lubes that contain glycerine. In my own experience, I tend to get more vaginal irritation when using glycerine lubes, though it could just be the thinner texture of those particular brands.
Parabens, on the other hand, are a controversial group of preservatives. A couple of studies have linked them to breast cancer, though those results have been called into question. Parabens have been shown to be readily absorbed into your system, though, so if you're super concerned about keeping potentially nasty chemicals out of your body, avoiding parabens in your products is a good idea.
Between the thin texture, quick dryness, and the sketchy ingredients, I personally wouldn't recommend Astroglide unless you just don't have any other lube options. It is available pretty much anywhere lubricants are sold, which is much more convenient than having to hunt down a toy shop, or order a lube online. However, unless I was just desperate for a little extra slickness, I'd recommend spending the extra energy on getting a better lube.

Experience
Normally I wouldn't use Astroglide. The husband and I use silicone lube for sex, but we have a different water-based lube for silicone toys. However, we were traveling and completely forgot to pack condoms and lube, so we grabbed a bottle of Astroglide to use on the road. Really, that was a mistake. I'd somehow forgotten how much I dislike the thin texture, and how quickly this lube dries out. Penis-in-vagina sex ended up causing chafing after just a few minutes of thrusting; we had to stop often to reapply it. That really kills the mood, you know?
