Can you believe there are 98 reviews on Astroglide? I was just browsing through lubes and thought I might find a good one to review, and I saw that it had 98!!! No kidding, check the page! What do you think of this, folks? Are you as surprised as me?

Most likely because reviewers starting out have to review cheaper items first. I'd guess that lubes and massage balms/oils would be many reviewers' first picks since they'd want to buy the stuff anyway.

Good point, potstickers. It's just a huge surprise to me! See, usually when there are 20 or more reviews on something, you can't get it for free assignment to review (although you can certainly do buy-out), so I don't think one should review it. There might not be much more useful information to add then because everyone else has covered it all.

A lot of people use Astroglide, as it is easy to find. Also, a lot of younger doctors feel cool suggesting Astroglide instead of staid old KY, like their fathers did. Really.
We used to use it, before I found lubes we realized were a lot better for our needs.
Also, when people are just starting out reviewing, they may not have a lot of sex toys, but they probably have a bottle of Astroglide lying around to review.
One of my first few reviews was Astroglide glycerin and paraben free (Green Cap) and I reviewed it because it was the first lube that didn't give me infections. Like I said, we've found much better lubes lately, that we like a lot more, but it was one of the first things I reviewed, after my beloved Wahl.

When I joined EF the first thing I thought of was writting a review on Astroglide, as we use it regularly and I would not have to wait to recieve an item to review. We decided to skip the review just from the fact that we could not come up with anything that had already been said about it!

Astroglide and KY were the only lubes I was aware of, prior to getting serious and researching both lubes and toys.
And yes, Astroglide, I feel contributed to some of my yeast infections. I love choices.

Another thing to consider, Astro Glide is sold in many stores like Walgreens and Wal Mart. Since you do not have to buy a product from EF to review it, it makes this type of product an easy way to get started writing reviews.

I have to agree with Carre, People start out reviewing what they know, at least thats how I started. I have experiance with the toys and other nick nacks I have reviewd so its esier. Also the reviewers that are doing it for points may not have money to spend on new items at the moment so they go for the easy stuff that they already know.
Personally thats why i reviewed it. It got me the points I needed for my new bullet and it was something im experianced with so it was easy to write about. im sure im not the only person on the site with the same logic

I almost wish there was that many reviews for all lubes. Probably bring down the ranking of some, but it would let the ones shine stand out.

I try to write a detailed review on anything with which I have had a memorably good or bad experience - I just did a write-up about Astroglide (ugh) the other day

I reviewed it because I've used it in the past. I didn't buy it on edenfantasys; I bought it at a grocery store. It's a really commonly used lube. A lot of people seem to love it or hate it. It's an easy review to do if you just want to get another review out there.
