Liquid silk review

extremely useful review
I consider Liquid Silk the ideal lube for intercourse. It dispenses neatly and provides a very natural-feeling lubrication that is not sticky or uncomfortable. It's not my favorite lube for use with toys, but I'd still highly recommend it!
Pros:
Smooth, odorless, thin enough to allow natural sensations to come through during intercourse
Cons:
Not slick enough, in my opinion, for effective use with toys
Liquid Silk is by far my first choice in lubes for sexual intercourse. In my opinion, it most closely resembles my own natural lubrication. It is a lube that truly LUBRICATES without making the area slippery or reducing most friction. It makes the process of intercourse smoother on days when you need it, without interfering with the natural sensations of sex.
Liquid Silk is basically odor-free, but it does have a slightly unpleasant taste, so save this one for AFTER the oral sex!
Liquid Silk comes in a handy pump-top bottle that makes dispensing clean and simple. The dispenser doesn’t dribble lube everywhere, like so many flip-top bottles do. The lube is also extremely sheer, without losing its effectiveness. As a result, it is non-tacky, non-greasy, and non-goopy. With many lubes, my first impulse after intercourse is to high-tail it to the bathroom to clean up the sticky mess. Fortunately, this is not the case with Liquid Silk. With this lube I can actually relax after intercourse and cuddle or rest without feeling uncomfortable at all.
When it does come time for clean up, Liquid Silk washes or wipes off easily with a damp cloth. I personally like to use baby wipes for clean up, since a full bath or shower usually aren’t necessary with this lube (some lubes require me to soak in the tub to get them off!).
I’m not as fond of Liquid Silk when it comes to use with toys—I honestly think it’s just too thin. It works well enough with smooth glass (and I’d imagine stainless steel toys, though I don’t have any to test), but doesn’t provide enough friction reduction for jelly, elsatomer, and even some silicone toys. It WORKS for toys, but allows for a little too much friction for my comfort—I prefer something slicker when using non-living materials!

I still think this is the best lube out there for intercourse for those who need just a little help with their natural lubrication, or for prolonged sessions. One thing I did notice--this lube doesn't last forever in the bottle. Long before most of my other lubes called it quits, this turned yellow and cakey in the bottle. :(

Liquid Silk and Silicone Toys
-
KaijahSo, while looking through highly rated water based lubes, I came across Liquid Silk. Aside from the bitter taste, no one seems to have any complaints.
However, I noticed that the fourth ingredient is Dimethicone - and I was wondering what everyone's experience with this and silicone sex toys was? Is the silicone in Liquid Silk a small enough portion that it has no effect on toys, or is it generally not recommended for that type of play?
Or does the bonding potential of silicone lubes have more to do with the type/quality of silicone than anything else? -
J's AlleyThat's a really good question because Dimethicone is a silicone.
Basically it should be ok to use as long as the toy is made of medical grade silicone. There should, in theory, be no reaction. I, personally, wouldn't want to test that out on my own toys though. You can do a patch test on a small part of the toy. The reaction should be immediate if there is going to be one.
Anyone else know about this? -
Carrie AnnI have had liquid silk react to a silicone toy. Which sucks because I love it. :(

Dang dang dang, Maximus is sold out, and I need more lube! Think this one sounds pretty good. I really like the more milky color of it, just seems more "natural" looking to me. I know you have tried a lot of lubes, so I am going to try this one. I will save the Toyfluid for my maximus order. Thanks for the great review Dame Demi!
Hope you end up enjoying it! It's an excellent skin-on-skin lube! Very close to the real thing.
I am so glad that I bought this based off of your review. It is now my favorite lube for vaginal intercourse. It seems quite similar to Sliquid Silk to me, but I like the pump top more of the Liquid Silk. Thanks again :)
