Subtle, Smooth, Sensual, and Super Sexy!

All quibbling about ingredients aside, this truly is the best water-based lubricant available on the market in my opinion. I adore that it both feels completely natural and doesn't leave one's skin covered in goo or oil while still having a firm consistency and lasting a decently long time in heavy play! For use with silicone toys (particularly strapons) this is one of the best lubes out there!

extremely useful review
Although I have not used Liquid Silk lube for a vast variety of play (see below for my experiences), it seems to me to be basically an all-in-one lube. It's water-based, so it can be used with any toy, including silicone ones, as well as any body part, which makes its uses numerous and flexible. One should note that Liquid Silk does contain dimethicone (aka silicone) in its ingredients, however, this ingredient isn't present in large enough quantities to damage your silicone toys as the lube is primarily water-based. As long as you are buying high-quality, medical-grade silicone toys (which you should be anyway), they should be fine with this lube. I've had no reaction with any of my silicone toys. While we're on the topic of ingredients, one should be warned that, although this is a highly rated (and wonderful) product, it does contain parabens, which have been linked to breast cancer. If you use a lot of lube very often, then you may want to think about this fact. That warning aside, Liquid Silk has one huge benefit that, in my opinion, outweighs the parabens downside: it doesn't contain glycerine (an ingredient known to trigger yeast infections), which makes the lube less sticky and is wonderful for people with glycerine sensitivities!

When I use Liquid Silk, I primarily use it vaginally for strap-on play and heavy fucking. I find that it lasts roughly 20 minutes with heavy fucking. I've never felt like I had to wash it off, because when it absorbs into the skin it actually feels pretty wonderful; like you just used hand lotion but without the shiny, greasy, messiness. However, if you did want to wash it off, it rinses off with water very easily. I've always hated the way other lubes left my skin feeling oily, tacky, sticky, or just awkwardly unclean and so one of the high points for me with Liquid Silk is that it's definitely an apply-and-forget-about-it lube! Liquid Silk is ideal for vaginal play, but can also be used for anal play if it's used in greater quantities or if you're an anal-enthusiast. I would not recommend it for beginners in anal play though vaginal beginners would be fine with this product. I also would not recommend using Liquid Silk in the water (shower, pool, etc.), since it does wash off fairly easily. I would definitely NOT recommend it for oral sex (see below).

The best part about Liquid Silk is it's texture, hands down. This lube has a thick, firm texture that is not runny or oily like other lubes. Runny is a particular problem with water-based lubes, but not with this one! A pump of Liquid Silk is thick, firm, stays in a nice clump in the center of your palm and only goes where you want it to go. It is, of course, silky. I'm not a big fan of hand lotions (in fact I hate them), so I was skeptical when people claimed it felt like hand lotion or was "silky smooth." The truth it that it does have hand-lotion like qualities, but you wouldn't mistake it for hand lotion either: it's not THAT silky, just silky enough. In a way it's a bit like the consistency of conditioning hair mousses.

Liquid Silk is unscented and unflavored, which basically means that it smells and tastes terrible. The taste is extremely bitter and is basically like what I imagine eating unscented soap would taste like. Rest assured: you do not want this in your mouth AT ALL. The smell isn't quite as bad and you can really only smell it when you get up close. I didn't notice that it smelled particularly clinical or medical until I purposefully sniffed it. It doesn't leave an after-aroma on your skin so you're safe there, but when you get up close, it pretty much smells like a hospital. It's also creamy white, which many people say makes it look like semen or vaginal fluid. I can't usually see the resemblance once it's on my strap-on and/or body though because it spreads out to look basically wet/shiny/clear.

This product comes in a pump bottle, so there isn't any awkward pouring, just pump and go! The pump doesn't leak as far as I've experienced, but it doesn't lock either. The bottle's clear plastic with a white nozzle and black lettering. The lettering is big; you'll notice it from across the room and it wraps all the way around the bottle. However, I disguised my bottle with a simple sheet of paper wrapped around it (mine has a pattern but you can do anything you want) and now it just looks like a bottle of hand lotion. The bottle's maybe about 8" high; a bit too big for travel, but not impossible either.
Experience
Finding the perfect lube has definitely proven to be a journey for me, but I can honestly say that I've reached the end of the road with Liquid Silk lube. It is hands down the best water-based lube I have ever tried and now an artfully-disguised bottle of it sits on my nightstand at all times. When I first started looking around for lubes I knew I needed something that wasn't silicone-based because I mostly use lube in relation to dildos/cocks and other silicone toys (see above for why dimethicone isn't an issue in this case). I also have never liked the way oil-based lubes make one's skin feel greasy for hours after and don't wash off anything easily. So, in desperation, I turned to water-based lube...

Most water-based lubes are, well...watery, but not Liquid Silk! Liquid Silk has a much firmer, thicker, lotion-like consistency that I adore. I happen to have a particular aversion to silky-feeling hand/body lotions and although Liquid Silk is "silky smooth," it's not the kind of lube that will stick with you for hours. After play was over I didn't experience any difference between skin that I had applied the lube to and skin that I had not, which is a huge plus for me personally! For heavy fucking I find that it stays active for only about 20 minutes, though, which is usually plenty of time for me, but might not be for others. I have thus far only used this lube vaginally, so I can't speak to the anal-fanatics out there, but it has worked like a charm every time!

The bottle is also a huge plus. As a college student I spent a long time living off little free sample packets of lube, always being too cheap to buy an actual bottle, but I'm SO glad I finally did. The pump feature of a bottle allows you to get exactly as much as you want, whenever you want without mess or tell-tale trash. I personally decorated my bottle to make it more roommate-friendly by securing a piece of decorative paper around the bottle to cover the words, which makes it look simply like a bottle of lotion. If you're stressed about your parents, rommmates, or friends finding it, I highly recommend doing this!

Thanks for the review! While I'm glad to hear that Liquid Silk has not reacted with any of your silicone toys, I still think it's important to note that this isn't always the case. I've had Liquid Silk react with both silicone and elastomer toys.
