Great water-based lube if you don't have sensitive skin

My husband and I used to love this lube until it caused an unfortunate rash. I wish we could still use it, and I am trying to find another water-based lube that we can use together. If you aren't concerned about safety and don't have sensitive skin, this is a fabulous lube.

Use

Liquid silk is a great water-based lube with some major problems. Unfortunately, it has parabens in it, which can cause an allergic reaction in some. My husband and I used this for months until one day he started having dermatological issues. He went to the dermatologist and was told that lubes similar to liquid silk have ingredients that can cause unpleasant, itchy rashes. Sadly, we still had quite a bit of the lube left because we loved it, and had just bought a bonus pack. I still use it with all of my silicone toys when I'm going solo.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The lube kinda looks like semen, which I think is kinda cute. It lasts for as long as most water-based lubes do. If you need a lube that lasts much longer, you'll need to go with silicone. I love the container liquid silk comes in. It's a pump, which makes it easy to get the lube out without accidentally spilling it all over the place in the heat of the moment. It leaves a slightly sticky residue behind, but it does not feel sticky or uncomfortable during use. Liquid silk will stay in the general location you place it, but it will gradually slide down where gravity pulls it. Best of all, it leaves no stains.

Taste / Aroma

Liquid silk tastes pretty disgusting, so I would never use it for oral sex. No scent has been added to it, but it has a mild odor that isn't unpleasant.
    • Bad taste
    • Mild unobtrusive smell

Performance

The product lasts a good 30 minutes and feels natural. I only feel like I have to wash it off my hands after use, as it leaves only a slightly sticky feeling. When you do wash up, liquid silk comes right off. I love that it's long lasting, but I am unhappy that it has unsafe ingredients.
    • Allergy concerns
    • Feels natural

Packaging

Liquid silk comes with the best pump. It looks like lotion on your nightstand unless you look closely at the label which says, "Bodywise, the subtle art of making people fit together and reducing friction in relationships."
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense

Experience

I wish that my husband and I could still use it together. So far, he's gotten stuck on a silicone lube that will destroy my silicone toys, which we used to use during sex.
Follow-up commentary
I continued to try to use this lube by myself as it irritated my husband's skin and not mine. I wanted to just get rid of the last bottle. Now, even I have started having a reaction to it.

Thanks for the review! I would recommend ID Moments water-based--you can find my review here. It still has chemicals but not parabens and it works for me. A few all-natural lubes are also available but they don't have the same performance. Good luck finding one that works for you!

We had the exact same problem with it (stinging rash) and wound up going to Sliquid Sea. It doesn't last quite as long as Silk did, but still good.

I just bought it to try it out yesterday along with a form 2. I've been refraining from buying anything silicone since we switched to a silicone lube but I haven't find a vibe I like that isn't silicone.
