Menopause? This is a MUST!
This product is as close to your own juices that you may find! It increased our arousal level as a couple because her body was able to match the desire that she was feeling in her mind and heart.Published: June 9, 2011
Pros:
Feels like natural lubricant. Does not dry sticky at all.
Cons:
May need some re-application, as it can dry quickly. Has a slight chemical taste.
My wife has entered early menopause due to a oophorectomy, and she has experienced some body changes, naturally. While the drive can be affected, the real impact of menopause is largely physical. Your genitals do not act or respond like they might have when you were fertile.
The positive news is that we have maintained a close and active sex life (thanks, in large part, to a new practice of a vulva massage every morning!). I don't think that would quite be the case if she didn't have Liquid Silk. We enjoy the size that has a pump, although there is a travel size that always takes trips along with us.
Her biggest menopausal symptom has been vaginal dryness. She has always been easily wet, yet this has been a change after her surgery. This product was recommended by one of her oncologists. Your gynecologist will likely be able to give you a free sample, in case you'd like to try it out before buying the product.
Just a small dab of Liquid Silk, and feels like she used to when she was "ready!" It has helped us be ready and feel good throughout these changes for us.
Just a note, it is not a good lube for anal sex. If you branch out in that area, you'll want to incorporate a different, thicker, lube at that point. Even though her vaginal juices were adequate for this, the Liquid Silk doesn't provide enough coverage to be useful here.
It is also a nice lubricant for a hand job or other manual play, as it doesn't dry tacky. By the time it does dry, however, your man should be already replacing it with some natural fluids. It does not have an offensive taste, but it does not add to the pleasure of oral sex, either.

no good?

i get the impression that this is crap......

Liquid Silk's not a bad lube, but "crap" or "awesome" depends a lot on what you want out of your lube. Like, do you want one for anal play or vaginal? For shower play? Are you a stickler for healthy ingredients?

It wasn't bad, but Alan and Michele have a point. What are you trying to get out of the lube?

Liquid Silk and Silicone Toys
-
So, while looking through highly rated water based lubes, I came across Liquid Silk. Aside from the bitter taste, no one seems to have any complaints.
However, I noticed that the fourth ingredient is Dimethicone - and I was wondering what everyone's experience with this and silicone sex toys was? Is the silicone in Liquid Silk a small enough portion that it has no effect on toys, or is it generally not recommended for that type of play?
Or does the bonding potential of silicone lubes have more to do with the type/quality of silicone than anything else? -
That's a really good question because Dimethicone is a silicone.
Basically it should be ok to use as long as the toy is made of medical grade silicone. There should, in theory, be no reaction. I, personally, wouldn't want to test that out on my own toys though. You can do a patch test on a small part of the toy. The reaction should be immediate if there is going to be one.
Anyone else know about this? -
I have had liquid silk react to a silicone toy. Which sucks because I love it. :(

Thank you for viewing Liquid silk – water based lube review page!

Good review How bad would you say the chemical taste is?
Thanks!
The taste is not bad at all, certainly not strong. It's just not sweet or tasty (which is good, since the flavored lubes aren't really that great anyway.) Since it blends away pretty quickly during oral, the flavor doesn't stick around at all. It's not a big deal.
good review keep them up
