The media is always printing about how women reach their sexual peak in their mid-thirties, but is that really true? One website I read said that men thought that all women were in their prime in their mid-thirties. They believed that women turned into gushing, multiple orgasmic, sexual goddesses who were finally confident and able to use their bodies in a way nature intended.
Wow, if only that were true! I definitely didn't feel like that in my mid-thirties.
In my mid thirties I was going through a divorce from a man who always called me frigid! I know, bloody cheek! Thank God for divorce lawyers.
But seriously, in my mid thirties I didn't feel at all confident with my body or my sexual awareness. Even talking about sex at that age was difficult, far from confident. I'd say that my mid-forties were around the time when I started to feel comfortable with my own body. I accepted how I looked and started to become less stressed in my life. I let go of insecurities and doubts I had about myself.
Now, being in my late forties, I can say that yes, I am confident sexually: hence the name of this site. I'm enjoying sex, I'm discovering my inner sexuality and how my body wants to be touched. Most of all, I am more sensual and have deeper emotional confidence in my sexual life than I ever before. I'd say that comes with age.
So, to say that us women reach our sexual peak in our mid-thirties, I'd say, is not true, certainly not in my case.
