I think about it all the time. I'm a real activist for women's rights, and I wonder how they got into it all in the first place. I always catch myself wondering if they actually want to be there.

After reading Jenna Jameson's book, my general thought (although it's from one person's perspective, it is a very well experienced person) is that they're just thinking of how to look right for the camera and get their job done well. I think most, specifically those most successful that have worked hard to make a name for themselves, do want to be there. Some of the girls doing the shorter, low budget, gonzo style films may simply be doing it to pay the bills, thinking they have no other options.

It definitely depends on how good of an actor/actress they are. For the ones that aren't so good, it seems some pornstars can't seem to hide their real expressions during the scenes. Often, we jokingly have dubbed different names for this. For example:
1. The "I'm not getting paid enough" face
2. The "just hurry up and cum so I can go home" face
3. The "Only two more of these and my house/BMW/student loan is paid for" face
4. The "I'm so not into this guy" face
5. The "Geez, my Hoohaa hurts" face

What's the small thing you can cling to to get that loving passion they want? What kind of girl would they enjoy? Are my kegel muscles contracting at the right time? Do they like it rough? Gentle? Hard? Fast? You have to be able to tell all that shit from just a few words or movements in the time before. I imagine its the same for porn stars, only they have to do it all for the director, for the audience. Do I look good? Am I sweating? Do the lights cast the wrong shadows on my tits? It's a job; it's sport.
