So I got to thinking about some of my favorite "sex movies" after browsing through this weeks voting batch. I saw that one of the member's name was also the name of an awesomely sexy movie-Lust Caution. I'm not talking about porn here. I love porn, but don't exactly watch it for the story line. I'm talking about good movies with an awesome theme, sex.
Sometimes porn does it for me, but a lot of times it doesn't. I want romance. I want to get involved in the characters & care about what happens to them. I want to learn something about the human nature and sexuality. I know, I'm such a woman. Most masturbation material I have stored away in my head isn't from a porno. It's from a really great sex scene in a non pornographic movie or book. Most of them didn't feature nudity, or at the very most had tits & ass.
Most of my fantasies revolve around the scenarios in which people are having sex, rather than the actual sex itself. I think a big difference between guys and girls (although I'm not an expert & could be wrong) is that for women the implication of a sexual act can be more arousing than actually viewing the penetration. I like seeing thrusting and grabbing, not those close up on private parts. A lot of the time I turn off the tube or close my eyes after the story part of the scene is over. I know what's coming after that anyway.
Another really great movie that comes to mind is Shortbus. It isn't really erotic, but it is one of the most wonderful sex positive films I've ever seen. If anyone else has any recommendations for movies about sex I'd love to hear about them. There is a serious drought when it comes to "smart" movies about the mechanics of love and sex, and I'd love to see more.
p.s. This is a little off topic, but I wonder how porn stars feel about high definition pornography. A little cellulite or razor burn isn't likely to be noticeable on a lower quality footage, but you can see every detail on a Blu Ray! *cringes*
