Porn is a particular passion of mine; I love watching it and I love reviewing it. I always love my dad's Netflix account--he controls the normal queue with an iron fist, but I can put whatever I want in to the instant queue, and that alone is more than worth it.

Lately I've been wondering if there were services that rented out porn DVDs in the same manner Netflix did (discreet mail order, pay per month). I've found a couple of companies that apparently mail out DVD rentals, but most of them seem a little expensive (as compared to Netflix), and I've never heard of any of them. The exception is SugarDVD, which seems to function just like Netflix (plans as low as $10, you can order 1 DVD at a time and stream 20 minutes a month to your PC).

I've also heard VideoBox.com is good for downloadable clips you can keep, even though I'm a ninny and I also like to examine special features.

Any comments? Experiences? Additions to this list?

I'm actually considering trying VideoBox.com for 1 month to see if it's worth it. I wouldn't want to pay the extra for the DVD-quality downloads, but by the looks of it, the lower resolutions ain't so bad, either. I'm just trying to figure out if they have a download limit, or if it really is unlimited downloading/streaming.

I haven't used it but I've heard of bluedoor.com as well. It seems more expensive than Netflix but not -horribly- so.

Yeah, that's not bad for 2 DVDs at a time. I just wish more porn rental services gave you the cheaper 1 DVD at a time option instead of starting the whole thing out at 2 DVDs at a time or more. =/

Although, sidenote, they have individual rentals for $1.99 a pop, which isn't bad, although I'm not sure if shipping fees apply.

Nevermind, they have shipping fees, and they're redunk.

I'm signing up for a VideoBox subscription as soon as I'm back in my apartment. I'll tell you how that goes. =)

AdultDVDEmpire also rents DVDs. They're based in the East, so delivery time is faster there. I think they have an a-la-carte program, but we have a 2 at a time subscription (we're paying 12.71 a month - I think it's higher for new memberships). They're discreet and we haven't had any trouble (3 years).

We've rented a-la-carte from BushDVD and XRentDVD as well. They ship pretty fast.

I use SugarDVD. Good service, but in the past year or so their selection has been shipping. They haven't been stocking new DVDs from big names like Vivid or Digital Playground anymore ... Just the cheaper stuff. I've been considering switching to some other company.

I gave VideoBox a test drive, and for the most part, I liked it: link

Shame to hear about SugarDVD's selection, but I did browse their stuff a little and see that they had a decent stock of educational videos.

I've used Sugardvd and Bluedoor. The first one is much less couples-oriented, but cheaper. Usually they offer free trials, so you could try. Customer service was quick and responsive and they had a decent selection of quality dvds. If money it's not an issuw, I'd go for Bluedoor. They have tons of good quality titles, more oriented towards what usually it's thought to appeal more to women and couples. They had also more interesting reviews than sugardvd

I have used AdultDVD Empire in the past.
They have an incredible selection in all DVD categories. I subscribed to their monthly service for almost two years. I felt their prices were very reasonable and their shipping was also pretty fast..from Pennsylvania. I found that I was getting too many movies and I/we just didn't have enough time to watch them.

I was actually looking into Sugar DVD just to rent 2 movies within the 10 day trial and cancel... because they are too expensive to buy and I'm not a porn renter when I could just look up stuff on the net.

I have been using SugarDvd for a few months now, price is right, and the customer service has been good. They also offer streaming tv service now for free with a rental plan that streams to PS3, RokuTV, GoogleTV, and Boxee if you have any of those devices. As with most rental services the more popular titles always seem to be out of stock.
