I'm looking at getting a book on bondage, but I'm not sure which one. I am very experienced with knotwork, but not with tying up people. Which of these do you think would be best for me?

I'm hoping to find new knots and ways to incorporate them in ties on people. I know quite a few knots already, I just haven't used them on people yet.

I also recommend Bondage for Sex. It was my first bondage book, and I adore it.

I need a good bondage book as well. I've just been watching videos online, which are really helpful. Did you ever get one of the books?

Not yet, I keep putting it off thinking I'd never get any use out of it.

I didn't vote because I haven't read all of those.... I have Midori's book though and it's pretty great.

Yes! First book I went for when I first got interested in SM101. I have his erotic bondage book as well, but I think the Knotty Boys would have more in the way of actual instruction in ties and knots. Jay's books focus more on the experience and introduction to it. There are some great basics in it, but it is geared more for the beginner.

Clear, easy to understand book. Midori's makes a good coffee table book though, so long as you have accepting guests. It's very pretty but not as instructive.

I love the Knotty Boys!

I agree that Knotty Boys is one of the most useful. But, I also echo the recommendation for Chanta Rose's Bondage For Sex. I'd also throw in a recommendation for Shibari You Can Use by Lee Harrington.
Midori's book is beautiful but not really instructive.
The Jay Wiseman book is a great overview of all types of bondage, not rope in particular, and has a significant focus on safety. If you need to start from the ground up, read it, if you understand safety issues and want to learn how to do rope work, others will suit you better.
I've also heard great things about, but not yet read myself, Douglas Kent's Complete Shibari books. They are in two volumes, Earth and Sky, and cover, respectively, floor bondage and suspension. You can get them directly from the author's website because they are self-published.

I think I'm going to start learning online and through video lessons, then go to books. =)

Also try looking up things online! Believe it or not, I learned most of what I know about knots from the Boy Scouts online manual.
Ironic, I know.

Huge fan of showing you the ropes, it's a great starter, and covers artistic and practical bondage. Japanese bondage (shibari) is nice, but you want to practice a bit first.
