I prefer to give bruises as opposed to receive them. However, the fight is part of the fun, so I've taken some myself and didn't mind too much.

Have to be careful though, as my girlfriend bruises very easily and it can raise some eyebrows. Already had one coworker ask her if she was being abused- which she was, but only in the erotic sense!
