If you couldn't / didn't want to wear a collar, but were owned, what would you wear?

Contributor: RemusHalifax RemusHalifax
I have a friend who, due to past trauma, refused to wear a collar. She's been talking recently about her desire to be owned and asked me alternatives for slaves who are owned but don't wear a collar. So I'm curious about what you guys would wear.

I'd wear a cuff, or.. well... urm, a rope bracelet.. band-thing? I really don't know.

I am owned, and because of my job can't wear a collar. I can't wear any necklaces or bracelets, either, so even a "stealth" collar is out. I had been thinking of an anklet, but when the time came Sir surprised me with a very thin chainmail waist chain He'd had made for me. It never comes off, and the only time anyone sees it is when I'm in a bikini. But I can feel it, so it's a constant reminder. It makes me very happy!

A ring. Bracelets/Anklets move around too much and give me weird feelings.

My pet wears a anklet, since it's more discrete and it'd be frowned upon at her work

I like the idea of bracelets and anklets. There are some steel ones online that look similar to the steel collars that would be nice.

I think a necklace would be the way to go for my own preferences. Perhaps a longer one or even one that could be doubled over and worn as a bracelet.

I'd wear whatever Master wanted me to wear, but that's just me.

That said, there's a TON of other options. An anklet, cuff, regular necklace or bracelet, ring? I think it depends on the relationship and the couple as to what will work. I don't think a collar is the be-all-end-all.

I think a necklace or bracelet is a great substitute! I myself have reservations on a collar even though my husband likes the idea of a collar more than me. Though we are doing something different. I am getting a tattoo as a way of showing ownership. I dont think a collar has to be the only option.

Personally, I am not property so I don't enjoy being Owned, even sexually. It makes me feel degraded thinking someone "Ownes" me. But, I think an ankle chain would be the second best to a collar for slavery/ownership play since that was a form of captivity.

I would probably go for a steel one.

I think I would let who owned me decide. But if I had a choice in the matter I'm not really sure cause I like all your ideas. And lucky for me at this time in my life I don't really have any restrictions as to what I can wear as for jewelry for work. I couldn't wear a collar to work but the rest I could wear.

I wouldn't have a problem with wearing a collar

Anything that is meaningful to both parties will work just fine. If my pet expressed this concern then I would work to find a suitable alternative. For a long term situation, a tattoo could even be an option.

i think a waist chain sounds great. like a makeshift harness to be worn at all times yet work and society don't have to look down their noses at you

I actually have a bracelet cuff that I wear for my fiance/dom instead of an engagement ring. It came from a shop that primarily sells raver gear, so it's just a piece of blue leather with a massive O-ring as the point of attachment. The best part is that he wears the other one everyday, so when he gets me alone he's able to strap the matching pair on me and tie me down.

Ooh I love the idea of wearing an anklet! Or a bracelet! I don't like leaving necklaces on all the time so one of these would work best!

Any of the above, but the anklet appealed to me most.

While I a collared slave, I am (usually) excused from having to wear it in public and instead Mistress replaces my slave collar with a locking, yet discrete, necklace. I would imagine I'd have the same effect with an anklet, bracelet, or a ring. In fact, I have seen a special "Ring of O" (named after 'Story of O' obviously) ring for submissives to wear in public. I believe they were sold through sub-shop.com, but Autumn and Company retired last summer so anyone interested would hafta do some digging online if they're still around.

My vote was for "other" however...
Even though Mistress releases me from my slave collar in public for work, family visits, et cetera, I have to wear a butt plug harness that She keeps locked on with a medium-sized plug inserted whenever I am out of the house or otherwise away from Her supervision.
Sure, butt plugs are by no means a traditional symbol of ownership; however, I find that being plugged while amidst those in the vanilla world is quite humbling and I end up acting more submissive in general towards everyone.
Any insubordination or otherwise bad behavior becomes rather difficult when you're anally impaled. I'm discretely forced to think about my ass, and by extension, the person who put that plug inside of it. As a result, wearing my butt plug behaves like an invisible collar because it serves as a reminder that I am owned property with no rights.

I love this!

I've been sent out wearing a plug on occasion, and it certainly does act as a reminder!

Anklets are cute, discreet for work, and are a little more unique than just a bracelet. The rest work too.
