We use different dildos for pegging. That's mostly because I'm a germ freak and don't share. That said, I do pay more attention to length on the dildos for pegging. If it's too short it won't work well in the harness.

we don't use diffrent ones. But we make sure all our toys are nonporous and throughly cleaned first. also, when looking at what to by we always make sure the base is nice and big. As far as length, hubby does not have a prefrance.

Many people like thinner dildos for anal use, and most probably prefer a smooth surface rather than heavy texturing.
