If your partner is completely anal inexperienced, you might want to start with something like prostate massage that he is in control of. If he likes the sensation, it might lead to pegging later on down the road.

I agree. I would start off slow. Introduce this during oral, possibly when he's close to orgasming so he notices the difference in the pleasure experience.
