We've dabbled with pegging a few times over the years, often with limited success. When we found EF we decided to give it a go again and were a lot happier with the results, mostly thanks to the better quality products and reviews.

Now we're considering picking up one of the advice books (it's actually the Violet Blue one that we're considering) and wondered whether anyone has read any of them and has any thoughts or recommendations or is there really nothing in these that can't be found with a few Google searches?

Note that we're primarily interested in books right now, although good DVD recommendations are always worth considering.

The Violet Blue is OK up until you start doing the actual pegging (it talks about bringing it up, looking for supplies, myths, etc.), but once you've got your harness on and he's lubed and ready it doesn't tell you too much. I haven't seen any of the other ones, but it seems to me that a good general-purpose anal guide and some web browsing might be the best way to go.

Thanks for the votes and especially for the replies It looks like the Adventurous Guide is miles ahead when it comes to recommendations, but ScottA's post has us thinking that it might not be the one for us now, since - as you say - we're already at the point of being harnessed and lubed up, lol. A general-purpose anal guide (or maybe even a gay anal guide?) might be something to consider.
