Does EF carry enough BDSM gear?

Contributor: Goodkittygnbad Goodkittygnbad
EF doesn't carry as much as I would like, but there are other sites that specialize in those products. I would love to be able to shop all at one place, and a place that I know and trust. I'd be very happy to see more products to choose from.

I visit sub-shop for a lot of my stuff. They also have a nice selection of locks and hard wear.

NO, definitely not enough. And Actually not the right stuff.

EF has the same BDSM syndrome then all the other online stores: it carries basic intro stuff that is usually (some exceptions) is of lower quality and will not catch the interest of experienced players like myself per say. A perfect example is floggers. Sure you'll find cute ones but no heavy duty proper scene playing toys. Medical supplies also can be great to offer, hardware, good rope like a little hemp rope for bondage. I can tell you so many other toys that could help build EF's rep as selling a GREAT selection of BDSM toys aside from the rest.

Maybe us BDSM players are a bit of a minority society wise...but we are climbing up that ladder pretty damn fast with so many artists displaying latex outfits and bdsm gear.

Let' educate them properly about it. Maybe have a BDSM special area where they ask questions answered by experts.

OK I am laying it on heavy now I know. But just keep in mind you are loosing a lot of business from those kinky players because they will go shopping there specialized gear that also has your vibes and lotions.

Yes the market may be smaller, but we are helping making it smaller but not trying. If EF wants to contact me directly for more info and suggestion please do!

I did 3 reviews for Ex Re, since no sales, but many follow through links, came out of it they cut me off. I thought it was very low and a bad business representation of how they work.

I would love if EF carried more BDSM gear. I get why they don't, but the poll didn't ask if we were capable of understanding why EF chooses not to carry more or less BDSM gear.

I wish they carried more. That is all.

I voted undecided because I can see both sides. On the one hand, I would personally like to see more variety in the BDSM products, especially since I don't trust most other sites. The reviews here are great and when I get order something from Eden, I basically know what I'm getting. On the other hand, I know that Eden doesn't want to become a speciality site and devoting more time to BDSM might mean neglecting other areas that are really strong.

I don't think it carries as much, but it's still a great site I would order from before others.

I've found that their bondage gear is hit or miss for me. Their inclusion of spreader bars was a pleasant surprise, but their price was not. Their collar selection is as expected, but I find a lot of them are kind of tacky and cheap-looking. There are little things that irk me now and then too -- the existence of a chain leash, but that chain leash only comes with a studded handle when I just want a plain one.

Generally, there sometimes seems to be a disparity between carrying stuff that looks (and is) cheap and stuff that is a bit pricey...where is the middle ground?

Not by a long shot! They seem to have a great selection of "introductory" items and soft bondage kits, but for taking it to the next level, the selection is very lacking.

I do think that EdenFantasys BDSM selection reflects the softer side of BDSM for people just testing the waters. I'm not interested in buying kink toys that aren't at least moderate-to-heavy duty toys. And I'm definitely not interested in buying anything that is pink or has hearts on it. That's just not my style. Some more review searching has made me reconsider this conclusion but I still don't shop for kink toys at EdenFantasys. Which makes me sad because the world is lacking in a Kink Supplier that has as wonderful of a review program as EdenFantasys does.

One thing I do wish EdenFantasys had is a severity rating. Much like the bees and buzz rating on vibrators, I wish there were a way to search for toys that had a scale of 1 to 5 just how severe the toy was. If something provided a light sensation it could be a 1 where as the really heavy flogger that packs a punch could be a 5. The little silk cuffs or velcro cuffs could be a 1 where as a locking fur-lined cuff could be a 3 and a really heavy duty restraint cuff could be a 5. Things like this, and a selection of toys that aren't pink, might make me reconsider relying on EdenFantasys for my kink toys.

What they carry isn't so bad, I just wish that there was higher quality stuff. Severity ratings are a very good idea as well.

Overall, BDSM is a niche market. I enjoy BDSM play but I do shop some other sites. If EF carried everything, I believe due to inventory costs and limited sales, the overall cost of all products would increase. Not good for most of us.

The selection of BDSM gear on EF does more then get someone started in this type of play.

They have a decent amount of basic stuff, but it'd be nice if they had some more extreme gear.

Definitely not enough! There could definitely be a larger variety of both "beginner" and hardcore stuff!

I love the idea of a severity rating!

I do wish EF carried more BDSM gear. I've always been interested in BDSM, but I am just now starting to explore it with my boyfriend. EF has a great search engine, comparison feature, and reviews - I would love to be able to browse and, most importantly, BUY gear from EF.

I agree with this. I like variety and feel a bit stifled by the small selection here at EF.

I feel pretty limited in choices, but hopefully if more people buy into those products more often they will have more available items for bdsm.

So much good stuff. And they have almost constant 50% off sales. I go to them for pretty much everything....
But I really like this sites points system.... So I'm giving it a go.

Gags are a good bridge from mainstream to BDSM. I'd like to see EF carry more serious gags, but not necessarily hard-code scary, Paddles are another area where "mainstream" means low quality. Personally posture collars are my favorite, but that might be better left to specialist stores.

Like I said in a different post, too much beginner stuff. I'd like a better selection of rope, for one thing!
