Yes, it does seem like Eden is moving away from the intermediate level BDSM gear that used to be stocked. It looks like the new focus is limited to the most basic entry level gear. It's sad, but I understand that Eden has to make their inventory decisions based on Eden's business needs.

Eden does not carry shoes, so I buy my shoes elsewhere. When they cut out the selection of books, I found books available elsewhere. What happens when customers discover the book seller also carries toys and BDSM gear?

All of the inventory has been reduced not just the BDSM gear. It was a general reduction in stock not a selective one...it just shows that BDSM gear made up quite a hefty percentage of the items here at EF!

I have tried a few of the products from the LoveHoney 50 shades of grey series and they are actually very high quality and I am very impressed with it despite the fact that it bears the 50 shades label. This isn't a cheap set for newbs. LoveHoney makes a good product.

I haven't had that issue with that set! The nipple clamps were heavy duty and very well made and the under bed restraint system is better than the set by Sportsheets I own. How odd!

this is actually good to know. i've been eyeing that set since it was released here, and was waiting for some more input/reviews on the product, though theres currently only one review but they seem to side with you on hw durable the cuffs are and that they are good for more advanced play.
Still it would be nice to see some more heavy duty items, even just some good sturdy cuffs.

I'm not on here a whole lot, but even I noticed recently that there have been fewer BDSM options. Specifically, I was eyeing a pre-tied rope & ball gag kit, only to have it disappear before I could order it.

It seems like most of the BDSM toys come in pre-assembled kits or are capitalizing on the "50 Shades of Grey" fandom.
The vanilla toys aren't bad though. A little more variety would be nice though.

EF has shifted its product mix to target a different clientele, and I suspect that the reduction in serious BDSM gear was intended. Regarding 50 Shades of Gray, EF does carry related and similar toys, but I don't think any 50 Shades "effect" extends to some of the more serious BDSM toys available elsewhere.

Good quality BDSM items can get expensive: handmade floggers, real leather cuffs, etc. Those things, if you want them to last, cost money. I don't think that the "average joe" that this site markets to may always know what they're getting into with BDSM, and the froofy, cheap things look like a good addition to the bedroom.

Which is fine if that's where that person/couple is at. Those items are less intimidating, and it's a good intro into the scene that may either lead them right the hell back out of it, or right into the thick of things depending on their level of satisfaction with the experience they had.

Yes, I think the selection has slimmed. It is still a decent selection, but I would like a little more in the fetish department.
