We're looking to invest in or make some nice floggers. How long do you like your falls to be and why? Also, how does width of the falls affect the sensation delivered?

huh, I never thought about there being a difference. guess it makes sense just like feather ticklers are of varying lengths.

I only have some experience with floggers so I don't know anything about the length but the widths definitely make a difference. The skinnier the ends, the more stingy it is. The more falls it has, the more thuddy it is.

Agreed. We're just starting to get into it, so it's something I'll have to consider.

The material the falls are made out of will also have a rather large effect on the sensation the flogger delivers. Fur, suede, leather, hair, rubber... all will produce different effects and sensations.

18 to 22 inches gives a beginner good control until you get use to throwing one. You also want to avoid certain parts of the body especially the kidneys. Buttocks and thighs are good to start with until you get the hang of control. There some good YouTube videos on where a sub should turn their head and such to avoid getting the brunt of a misplaced throw.
