Harness Compatible

I have a very large silicone dildo and want to wear it in a harness. The Maverick is made of VixSkin and has a two inch diameter. It was quite an investment so I would prefer to use a stretchy ring, opposed to metal, to prevent harming the material. Are there any flexible materials, other than silicone or silicone compounds, that I should avoid? I have never used a harness so worrying the metal would snag and hurt the toy may be an irrational fear but any advice would be great. Thanks!
