I'm the same way, 1.75 is a comfortable size for long term wear but I think I could probably handle a 2.25 or a 2.5.

I look at the 1.5 inch ones and about the only reason I've thought about ordering one is because the one I like has a buckle closure and the ball comes off.

I figure in theory (provided I'm willing to either ruin or order a second of my favorite larger gags since the ones I like don't seem to have removable balls) I can switch the balls out for bigger ones when I want to.
