I've read a lot of reviews on this and never heard of that happening. I'd contact the manufacturer and complain and probably submit a support ticket.

I think one of the reviews I read said that it shed tiny bits of the suede the first few uses, but then it stops. I decided not to get it, so I don't have it. I would use it a few times and if it continues or gets worse I would send it back.

Suede will shed for a bit when it is new, mostly due the process used to make the tails. It involves using a piece of hide and then slicing it into strips. Shake it a few times or roll it in between you hands for a time and most of it will fall off. It it continues to shed after that (Like a lot) it may be a good idea to send it back. You will always get little bits from time to time but nothing like when its new.

Ours left a very small amount during use, but it was not enough to cause worry.

I would use it against a towel for a bit, both for target practice and to make it stop shedding.

It's leather. Leather sheds. (Suede is a type of leather.)

I was just about to make a similar suggestion; fold up a towel (or wrap it around a leg/couch arm/etc.) and flog the towel until it stops shedding. This'll help you with getting a feel for the flogger as well as to stop the shedding.
