Leather or suede. Suede's more comfortable, but leather smells great and has a nice firmness to it.

I have a fetish for leather so it's the natural choice. Love the smell. Metal gives me a rash sometimes, though I do like the look of it.

It all depends. Metal collars generally represent a deep, lasting commitment (basically like a marriage), and the dominant partner presents one to his/her submissive like a wedding ring in what's called a formal collaring ceremony. Leather collars are for couples who are in a close, but not necessarily committed for life, relationship. My leather collar is like an engagement ring to me until my partner and I formally collar one another with traditional metal collars in a year.

I only have leather. I love the smell. Though I have a lace choker that could double as a dressy collar and I'd love a ring of steel one.

I voted leather. I love the look, feel — and of course, the smell!

I'm very curious to try a solid metal collar (seems intense, in the same way handcuffs are) and I'd be open to a vegan leather collar, too.

I like leather and metal collars. I have all kinds of collars from the Eternity collar (stainless steel locking) to cute little buckling leather or nylon collars. I also have some chainmaille collars that were made for me by a friend.

I don't wear one every day, most times I just wear a necklace that the hubby gave me, but just recently I found I was allergic to the chain it came on so I actually have to find a different chain before I can wear it again.
