You can store it in a box or bag. That won't really do anything to harm the paddle. Just make sure the box is big enough for the paddle to fit without bending.

We keep our paddles in a locking chest at the foot of the bed. If we had this one, or one that "bleeds" like it appears to, we'd keep it in a plastic bag (or something like that), mainly to protect our other toys. As BloodHound said, it's important that it doesn't get bent during storage.
