Which causes more pain from a flogger?

Contributor: salaciousrex salaciousrex
I was going for leather but I'm looking at other kinds now. I've been reading tons of reviews and all the ones that I thought looked like they would be painful aren't to most people.

So... What kind of flogger would you suggest for the most pain for an intermediate user?

---And if you can suggest any specific floggers I would LOVE that!
Thank you!!

I think it depends on the type of pain you are into. Rubber will yield a sting, and depending on how it is cut leather can be either stingy or thuddy. I've only found suede to be thuddy, personally.

My favorite is suede. Nice, thick suede with long tails - but like I said, it depends a lot on the type of pain you're going for.

Suede is thuddy. I have read some where Leather gives a good mix between thuddy and stingy, but that buffalo and kangaroo leather are very stingy. Rubber would be stingy, although I have heard of some made with rubber tubing that are give a good thud with the sting. It really does depend on which type of hit you are looking for.

Thanks for the input. I definitely think a mix of thuddy and stingy would be awesome.

I LOVE a hefty leather flogger with at least 40, 16-24 inch long tails, creating a nice thuddy feeling over a larger portion of the body. If the tail strips are about .25 inches wide or less they will be thin enough to be stingy too. I like a nice mix of thud and sting. One I currently own, is very close to these specifications and is made by Hustler, but I had to purchase it at my brick and mortar store because Eden doesn't carry it.

I am weird when it comes to buying floggers. This is one product I have yet to purchase online because I am so particular about what I want. I would LOVE to be able to get in touch with a leather company and have one custom made to my specifications.

If you are looking for nothing but sting, then rubber is probably your answer.

My experience is that a rubber flogger causes a more stingy pain while leather floggers cause a more thuddy pain. Personally, I like thuddy but it's fun to switch it up with stingy too. That's why we have both.

Rubber would be quite stingy. I also have one akin to plastic/vinyl which is quite painful. I also saw one made out of plastic lanyard string, that was a stingy little bitch.

The sensation of a leather flogger depends on the type of hide (suede is common, but you can find them in deer, elk, even buffalo, which is said to be the heaviest made), the way the falls are cut (thickness, width, length), and the strength of the user. A suede flogger is generally going to be thuddy and quite pleasent imho.

Never used rubber, but reportedly it can be quite a sting. To intensify, just add water.
