i would not choose iether. silicone is the best, it can be steralized. i would try the small silk, it is about as big as a finger.

I'd suggest starting with the silk medium; it's still not very large (from personal experience, a total or near total beginner should have no problem with it) and you won't "outgrow" it quite so quickly.
